i copied some old folders (hardly ever used) over to an external drive to free space and created a share for people to access it, the share however will not give me the security tab?! so i cannot control who has certain levels of access to it, i tried turning the use simple network sharing setting off but its not in the options!? also i cannot check i have ownership of the folder because that option is also not there Im stuck...... any ideas??

Hey anyone have a script or software (free) that will copy all users/desktop differential(ly) from a network location?? We tried redirected desktops but over wireless it slowed the login speed right down, the lovely children keep deleting the desktop icon and i would love an easy fix Thanks in advance

Its been ghosted and after the image wont boot, tried booting from an xp cd to do an new install with a blue screen result. then i replaced the hdd with the exact same results!! iv had this problem before with ACHI and compatibilty mode but i cannot find any option for this in the bios any ideas??

This issue has been annoying me for weeks and i cant find a fix!! Flash is installed and up to date, Klite Codec pack, Quicktime, and VLC all installed. When Logged onto one laptop as anyone in the whole school (admins, staff, and even children(lowest privelidges)) the video clips in espresso play but one teacher it doesnt!!! iv deleted her profile and still nothing! its crazy... i have even when logged on as her reinstalled said software using run as admin but still no joy. Please help

Thanks for all the replys guy! in the end i told them due to network traffic it would be unethical and a few dvds and an email aksing for copying permission was the best way. They seemed to agree after discussing the network proformance would suffer

fwbs backup toolkit is another one

Been given a DVD that every class will use, so it needs putting on the network. i was thinking shared drive, but the only way i know how to copy the dvd is by using vlc to play the VOB file. (teachers will complain they forgot how to open vlc > open> shared >dvd PLAY) The School will not entertain paying for a format convertor nor will they waste dvd copying it directly. Any Ideas??
