Staff Laptops on school and home internet
tommccann replied to DAZZD88's topic in How do you do....it?
We just have the user log in locally when at home (with the proxy not configured), and use their network accounts when in school (GPO configures the proxy) -
you want to run the network internet through your phone! thats a lot of traffic for one little phone, your LEA must be awfull to even consider doing that
-
No joy with both efforts!! im gonna throw it out the window soon

Acer Veriton M464 running XP Pro SP3, when i insert anything into the card reader (USB pen, SD Card) it crashes My Computer until i remove the card. I redownloaded and installed the Sm Bus driver from Acer, and i also did an windows hardware update and it found one for the reader but no difference! Also tried going into disk management when the card is inserted but it just says loading for ages without any progress Any Ideas?? (ps the other front USB drives work fine, but the one on the internal card reader doesnt)
-
the USB doesnt use an image, it uses a windows 7 iso so it will only do a fresh install of 7 then on first boot up it will ask to be configured like date/time, language, serial etc.... if you imaged it the serial would be copied across unless syspreped it not to

could be the secure part of it (https), have a look on your web exchange for the server details (should be in a link somewhere on help i think)

all printers are on the latest drivers (PCL 6), its only oding it on the one laptop and we imaged that laptop from a set of 6 so think its a local problem. Strange..... ill just tell the teacher i can fix it with an image and she'l loose her laptop for the day and all her work thats not saved on the network (unless she backs up, thats not my job!) No teacher will agree to this so she'l just not care about the problem anymore, solved!

The Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool allows you to create a copy of your Windows 7 ISO file on a USB flash drive or a DVD. To create a bootable DVD or USB flash drive, download the ISO file and then run the Windows 7 USB/DVD Download tool. Once this is done, you can install Windows 7 directly from the USB flash drive or DVD. The ISO file contains all the Windows 7 installation files combined into a single uncompressed file. When you download the ISO file, you need to copy it to some medium in order to install Windows 7. This tool allows you to create a copy of the ISO file to a USB flash drive or a DVD. To install Windows 7 from your USB flash drive or DVD, all you need to do is insert the USB flash drive into your USB port or insert your DVD into your DVD drive and run Setup.exe from the root folder on the drive. Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool Anyone Used this?? Looks really good, because we remove the ribbon cable from the DVD drives to stop the kids breaking them. Would save me a lot of time, allthough ill probs just create one then image it to the rest
