  1. Hi, The only 78" ActivBoard that has the built in Amplifier and Speakers is the 378 Pro. In 87", there is the 387 Pro and the AB500 that has the Amplifier and Speakers built in. The AB500 is the latest release of ActivBoard and has pen and touch capabilities. For more info have a look at Promethean Planet - Interactive Teacher Community, Interactive Whiteboard Lessons and Resources, Online Lesson Plans, Teaching Resources - Promethean Planet
  2. The nearest place to you that I would recommend is... Projector Repairs, Cleaning & Maintenance | TP Matrix Projector Repairs They are a "Sanyo" authorised repair centre.
  3. Hi, The best thing for you to do is contact our technical support department using the Promethean Kb form here If you can include the product code and serial number of your ActivBoard then one of our agents will be able to inform you of the warranty status and if out of warranty will be able to advise further.
  4. Hi, Given that they were tested and found to be fully functional on the installers laptop, the first thing to determine is what is different on your machines. My first thought would be that this could be a "permission" issue or that you are using an older version of the ActivDriver (just for info, the sound uses standard windows drivers) First up, can you log in as full admin and test for interaction, failing that resolving the issue, please can you check the ActivDriver version by selecting the ActivManager icon on the System Tray and selecting Control Panel, the version will be displayed in the bottom left hand corner of the window. Whilst you are in there check that "mouse" is selected on the pens tab and not "pen"
  5. Hi Steve, Most likely cause is that the wrong drivers are installed for the Keyspan adapter, one way to check would be to attach another serial device to see if this works with the keyspan. You need to check that there is a Win 7 driver out there or try the one off the CD. This may sound like a silly question but do you need the kepspan adapters, are your ActivBoards the serial only model (early 1st generation) or are you running long cable runs (if so makes sense why you are) but I tend to find that people started to use these when the boards had previously been attached to serial only PCs and then moved to USB models. If you have our second generation of boards you can leave the serial cable in place to deliver power to the board electronics and then simply attach a 5m USB lead to the USB socket on the board electronics. Let me know your product codes and I can confirm.
  6. Sorry Steve, been in meetings. The fact that the reg key is being written to would indicate that the calibration points are being picked up but for some reason the mouse pointer still isn't being controlled, do the values change if you select points other than the targets, if not this could be a permissions issue (are you logged in as full admin) Another thing to check, if you click on the ActivManager icon in the system tray and choose "Control Panel", and then under the "Pens" tab can you make sure that "Pen Mode" is set to "Mouse"? You may need to reboot if you have to change this setting. Failing that, can you ensure that the projector is the only display device attached to the desktop and there are no remote desktop "mirror" displays present in Device Manager before rebooting a trying to calibrate again.
  7. Hi Steve, It could be that you have 2 instances of the ActivDriver installed (one being much older and hence causing a conflict) You say that you are manually installing the driver but before you do so is it possible to check if there is an older version installed on the image? Have a look if ActivSoftware\ActivDriver folder exists in Program Files or if a process called ActivControl is running in Task Manager.
  8. Hi, It's advisable to keep a record for the Licensing of each install - Think Pete's suggestion is a good one - Thanks Pete
  9. Hi, At present we can only supply the Standard Laptop Shelf but I believe that the "Lockable" Laptop Shelf will be available circa end of August/early September
  10. Promethean hardware installation/distribution and Maintenance survey Promethean would like to ensure your experiences of installing, maintaining or distributing Promethean hardware are at the highest quality level. To achieve this target, we would appreciate if you could spend 5-10 minutes to share your opinions and experiences by completing a survey. Your feedback is invaluable to help us improve product design and make your experience easier and better. • If you have the experience of installing or maintaining an ActivBoard or Promethean projector, please find the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/installation1 • If you have the experience of distributing Promethean hardware, please find the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/distribution1 It would be great if you could ask your colleagues who have the relevant experience to finish the survey too. Your participation is very much appreciated!
  11. Hi Pete, I have raised this internally as an Enhancement Request. The ID number is 11015esc
  12. It may be best if you contact our support team with your product code and serial number via the Promethean Kb Contact Support Form They will be able to check whether the board is still in warranty and advise further
  13. Hi Pete, Unfortunately there isn't a "universal" pen that will work on all our ActivBoards - the new generation of boards work at a different frequency to what they did previously hence the reason for the new style pen - not sure if it helps but the colour of the Teacher pen matches the colour of the ActivBoard 300's extrusions.
  14. Is the activboard recognised by the driver - if you click on the ActivManager Icon in the system tray and select "control Panel" does the board appear in the list on the hardware tab? If so what version of firmware does it have? If not do you have any exclamation marks in device manager?
  15. So the issue appears to remain in this room - did you confirm whether the issue occurs in MS Paint/ActivInspire as suggested earlier? The ultimate test is to exchange the board with a working one from another room to see if the issue follows the board - we need to isolate the issue if we can as at present there are too many variables.
  16. Hi, I believe that if the teachers want to use the functionality of ActivInspire on a competitors board I.E. They are not just installing the software to enable them to view Content/Resources then yes they will require a licence for each teacher. (or purchase our boards instead )
  17. You can have a look at the Licensing details here Hope this helps - think the bottom line is that you can apply for a "Teacher Consent Licence" that allows you to run the "Personal" edition of our software (ActivInspire) in order to operate the Resources that are available from Promethean Planet but if you want to do anything more than that then you must purchase a Professional Licence.
  18. Hi, Theres something strange happening here, please can you check what versions of the software you are running and which OS? Also, did you confirm that the laptops work on other ActivBoards without issue?
  19. Might just have needed a "Reboot" - Glad its working
  20. Hi, You could write a script to launch msiexec with the uninstall switch and call the Product Code for the version of ActivStudio you have installed, eg, to uninstall ActivStudio Professional Edition v3.7.19 (which was the latest) run msiexec /uninstall {929B1254-D7F9-403A-8234-EE348E448820} You can find the relevant product code in HKLM>Software>ActivSoftware With respect to resources location you can configure ActivInspire to point to a "Shared Resources" location that can be local or a network location if you like and you have the option to have a "My Resources" location on the local machine (again this could be a network location too if you want) If ActivInspire cannot see the "Network locations" you have configured then it will revert to the default locations on the local machine. This guide on the Promethean Knowledgebase may help you with this: KBM134
  21. Error Code 10 usually means unable to start the device. First thing I would do is attach the ActivBoard to a known working system so that we know where the issues lies (I.E. ActivBoard or Computer) Assuming that the ActivBoard works fine on another system, and ensuring that you are using the admin account on the machine with the issue, first up, update the driver and manually point to \Program Files\Activ Software\ActivDriver\activusb\XP to see if that resolves the issue. The second reason could be because the ActivBoard isn't receiving enough voltage to initialise - I know you say that there are no extenders but the thing to try is to take a standard 5m USB and connect directly into the ActivBoard Electronics (sometimes the extenders are hidden in trunking as I'm sure you know) Also, some computers do not supply the required voltage to the USB ports so if this is an ActivBoard that is taking power over USB it could exhibit these symptoms if the electronics do not receive the required voltage levels (I will need the Product Code to confirm if this could be the case though) Let me know how you get on...
  22. Hi, What do you mean by gone in manually to configure the install? There shouldn't be anything that you need to "configure" as such. Do you just mean updating the driver via Device Manager? If you can give me some further info then I should be able to guide you, lets try these for starters... What model of ActivBoard do you have? Does it work on other computers? Did you receive any errors during the install? Are you using x32 or x64? Are there any exclaimation marks in Device Manager when you connect the ActivBoard? Does the ActivManager Icon in the System Tray have a red cross through it? Are you using USB extenders?
  23. Just keep in mind though that some of the very early first generations are "serial" only so if you are hoping to convert a system that has been previously used serially then its best to ask our support team if yours has the USB chip - they should be able to tell you this from the serial number. If it's simply to replace existing then Happy Days!
  24. You say that you have tried 4 different laptops (known to work on other boards I assume) and even swapped the ActivBoard out with another and replaced cables, pens etc, which only leaves one thing - the projector?? Just wondering if it is something to do with the refresh of the projector - would be interesting to know if you mirror the displays, does the copy of ActivPrimary displayed on the laptop screen display the annotations but the projector doesn't? First thing I would try first though because it is easier, go into ActivPrimary's settings, select "Flipchart objects" and remove the tick from "Lines and Shapes" in the High Quality section - some Graphics cards can't cope with this setting and display similar issues to what you are seeing.
  25. This sounds like the USB adapter for the 1st generation of ActivBoard - is this it? If so it is available via the PrometheanPlanet shop, it is also supplied with a Standard 5m cable.ActivBoard Cables (USB Cable for ActivBoard 75
