  1. Totally agree with this. Also depending on the nature of what you are looking for you run the risk of committing criminal offences of your own.
  2. I think Jessops also offer some form of credit deal on a similar basis. May be worth a look.
  3. Thanks. Reply sent
  4. Edimax 3G 6200n router. I bought this a couple of months back for a project I was doing. Now surplus to requirement. Perfect condition with very little use. Edimax 3G-6200N nLite WiFi 3G Broadband Router: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories £30 posted
  5. We have about 9 of them - great product! Much prefer them to the lapsafe cabinets we have.
  6. Students all use owa. Staff have a choice but I would say 80 to 90 percent use owa. The ones who use full outlook tend be admin people who sit with outlook open all day. We use 2010 version and staff seem to love it. Had lots of very positive feedback about owa
  7. We built a virtual PC which ran within our normal network PC but was not connected to the network. This had VB on it and allowed them to run exe files. They can then save them to a flash drive if needed.
  8. I had a Hanns-G monitor that did exactly the same. Nothing I tried made any difference. Gave up in the and just used it with VGA somewhere in school.
  9. We use these guys Audioworks - Audio and Audio Visual - PA Systems - Induction Loop Systems - Installation - Lancaster and they are excellent. Very helpful, professional & friendly
  10. The Salary Calculator - Take-Home tax calculator £1,109.05 according to the above site. £1,134.33 from April 11
  11. We had a minor problem with AQA (I think) whereby the results file was named the same as the January one so it wouldn't download. Removed the Jan one and it worked fine after that.
  12. Gorgeous here today too - just spent a lovely day at Coniston
  13. Yep - right click a name (or group of names), pick the achievment/behaviour you want and click it. That then creates a record in the Behaviour management module - no form filling needed.
  14. It does do something similar but not quite in the way you describe. You can set behaviour or achievement incidents so they can be added from the lesson monitor screen by right clicking and choosing the type. This then writes a record in behaviour management without the need for staff to do anything else. Reporting is then pretty easy. We've just implemented it for achievments within our new reward system.
  15. It's a great school - I was offered the network manager job a while back (turned it down for various and in hindsight probably mistaken reasons). At the time they had decided they needed major investment in IT as they were running pretty much everything on wireless and it was not great. Having had a network manager in post for a while now I suspect they've made some big and exciting changes. I'm sure this will be a brilliant job for someone at an excellent school with very friendly staff.
  16. An excellent approach and one we would very much like our RBC to adopt.
  17. They had their IT Manager post up a short while back. I am guessing an internal candidate got it and has moved up perhaps?
  18. We've got a stack of those laptops from Misco and they are excellent value. They are one of the few models we've given to staff where they've actually told us how much they like them. The price coupled with the excellent service we get from Misco would certainly make me buy more. No issues at all with the processor by the way.
  19. Or unlucky depending on your viewpoint. Personally I love being around on open evening and meeting parents and kids.
  20. Just bumping this up a bit as we are now live with the vacancy. Any questions please feel free to ask.
  21. This should help you out if I've understood your needs Excel Spreadsheets for Beginners: The CountIF Function
  22. I wouldn't mind giving them a try so if you want to share your code I'm happy to - as you say - everyone wins!
  23. We use these guys ::: www.systemhost.co.uk ::: to host our exchange server and sharepoint VLE but I'm sure they could host Moodle easily enough. Phil Scanlon is the man to speak to.
  24. We don't block it anymore. We used to by creating a GPO with a false proxy and applying it to a specific security group but we gave up banning people from the internet and the network and just brought all "IT Offences" in line with our code of conduct so if they do something wrong it's punished like any other offence.
  25. I get to go on trips every year. 200 odd year 7 to North Wales in Feb, same place with year 9 for a weekend, YMCA outdoor centre with year 8, various theatre trips plus I organise our whole school activity day - 900 kids, 30 trips - fantastic! Support staff are actively encouraged to be part of the wider school community so most of us do some trip or other.
