  1. I've been to more festivals than gigs as I consider them better balue for money but if you're just on about bands in general then I'd say these are some of my top bands for performance: Feeder (Leeds 2006 and 2008) Tenacious D (Leeds 2008) Slash (at Download 2010) Arctic Monkeys (Leeds 2006) The Enemy (Leeds 2008) Pigeon Detectives (I think it was Leeds 2006) Muse (Leeds 2006) AC/DC (MEN Arena 2009) There are loads more that I've missed but performance-wise, these aare the ones I remember most.
  2. I gotta say, I've only just read your thread today and it's good to know you're doing well. I'm 22 and my dad has smoked since before I was born, he's 53 and has tried to quit now and again over the years but I think he's lacked both willpower and possibly support. I think the last time he attempted to quit was maybe about 10 years ago. But anyway, glad to hear you're doing well. Keep us updated.
  3. I have a '03 ZX6R B1H (the 636 Engine) and also a '87 Honda VFR400. Gonna get rid of the VFR though. I've been meaning to sort it out and sell it but I think I might just sell it as spares repair as it's not worth the hassle.
  4. I did nothing...The End! Not quite, Friday night was spent in the house on my bill watching Revenge of The Nerds 1, 2 and 3 (well half of it at least).Satruday I woke up and watched the F1 qualifying, or lack there of. Then did nothing all day until we went to a mates house for a few drinks. Sunday I woke up and watched the Sky+'d F1 and kept nodding off every other lap until half way through, when things started getting more interesting and then after I watched the MotoGP and then waayyyy later watched Walk The Line.
  5. We have an issue with Evolution eKeys 49 keyboards and latency. Yes I know eKeys 49 Keyboards are ancient but hey, we're not made of money. We can't just throw any old machines in and hope they work because they just don't. We have had decent results with Creative X-Fi XtremeGamer PCI soundcards. We needed low-profile sound cards that used WDM drivers. This seemed to lower latency to an acceptable level. However I now fear that the head of music is trying to find excuses to get a new load of machines in. The software we use is largely Evolution SoundStudio 2 and Sibelius 4. The Creative Soundcards we have support ASIO 2.0 low latency drivers. This may sound stupid but how do we know if we're using the ASIO drivers or WDM? If people here have the same software in use, then what spec are your machines? We can't afford a Mac suite so that's out of the question.
  6. I'm still running a custom build, Athlon XP 2400, 512MB RAM and other bits have been upgraded now and again but only low cost items such as budget graphcis cards and a cheap HDD. It's none functional at the moment but just needs a OS reinstall. I'm thinking might use it to tinker with Linux. Older kit seems to last longer but I think sometimes it's down to the demands of gamers keep pushing requirements forward.
  7. @Zag wouldn't that be obstruction of justice?
  8. When you phrase your response like that, then yes you do have a valid point.
  9. @Domino why hide information that is not incriminating? I don't see the point. I mean, if you were some sort of secret agent on a mission then fair does but when you're just some average Joe walking along a street.
  10. You have something incriminating you want to hide then? Lol.
  11. Shows me he's guilty and has something very serious to hide.
  12. I'd agree with the laptops bit but I think it maybe overkill to abolish memory sticks, even though we're tryin to encourage people here to use our Talmos (VLE). They say it takes too long to download documents and they have to work on multiple documents etc... mostly their excuses a crap, just so they can use their portable drives and their flash drives. Unfortunately here, I'm not the boss but if I was I'd stop staff laptops because mroe than half of the staff don't use their laptops in school at all and when asked to bring them in to be updated we get a meagre response at best. Most laptops have software on such as Football Manager, 3D screensavers etc... Personally this is incorrect usage and demonstrates to me that if their children are using their laptops at home or they themselves are installing software willy nilly, then they have no work to do at home therefore negating the need for a laptop. [/rant] In summary, yes get rid of laptops but I'd think a bit more carefully about the memory sticks.
  13. Hmm...yeah. Lol. I thought of that but he has signal problems even when he's not holding it.
  14. So sounds like it may just be the HD2 then? The guy I work with reckons it could be down to the OS being Windows Mobile rather than Android, could this be true?
  15. The guy I work with has a HTC HD2 and seems to have poor signal in our office. I generally have poor signal at home with my SE C902 but in our office I usually get a decent 3G signal. As soon as he used an old mobile with the same sim card, his signal improved drastically. My question is, are all HTCs the same or will I be safe enough gettign the Desire? I would hope so, I think they've got a few features more useful to me than the iPhone. I know a few people on here have the Desire and I can imagine a few have the HD2 as well.
  16. In our school we have been using VB Express since 2005 to teach programming for A-level. Until this year, we haven't had a problem. We have had to upgrade to 2010 because the students have that at home and some work isn't compatible. We are having some issues with VB2010 Express. When the students add a label and go to rename it, sometimes it spits out and error message (or at least this is how the problem has been described to me). This doesn;t seem to happen for the teacher or myself so I was wondering if with VB 2010 Express there are issues with limited permissions for the user. Any help? P.S. Will test the problem again but logged on as a test user to check my theory.
  17. Slow you say? I wish I could afford something that "slow". At the moment I can't even afford to take a Macbook Pro on Apple's finance which works out at something like £45ish a month to have the spec I want.
  18. I have this little Aygo on the dual carriageway briefly and it felt fairly decent. Maybe you just got a previously abused model? I would definitely advocate little cars. There's a couple of steepish hills on my way to work and this morning, the car managed just fine in 2nd gear. BTW for a little car the gearbox seems to have fairly long gearing. Despite that it seems fairly nippy for a 60bhp car.
  19. Also when you get higher in the rev range they sound like sporty cars...only a little bit though.
  20. Well I today Have confirmed to myself at least that I believe small cars are just as good as bigger ones, at least for most peoples needs. How? Well Seeing as Jennings Ford seem to have lost my new Fiesta and I no longer have insurance or tax on my Astra (due to being told numerous times that my car would arrive on such n such a day) I asked them to arrange a courtesy car. There courtesy car waiting list is two weeks apparently but they gave me an Aygo that had been traded in...I think it's an amazingly fun little car. Reminds me of when I had my old Mini except it has a higher centre of gravity.
  21. That is awesome. Whoever thought that up is a pure genius.
  22. Not a bad spec that, I'd be looking for a slightly better processor. If I had the money I'd replace mine with that, as my USB controller seems to be non functional so I have to use a PCMCIA card for USB devices.
  23. DAZZD88

    F1 2010

Hmmm...I do think that is maybe a little daft but I'm still intrigued.

    F1 2010

How so? If they're really bad then it might put me off but if it's just because of realism and strict adherence to the rules then I might till get it.
  25. Only til a better idiot comes along...
