  1. Out of curiosity, have you checked to make sure you're definitely plugged into the 7470 and not the onboard? I've stupidly done this a few times when not realising that a machine has had an add-in card
  2. Yeah well, I made an offer and it was accepted. Then had to supply the obvious stuff (DIP, solicitors details etc..) before it was official. Well...off to the pub now to have a few drinks with staff, to celebrate my freedom.
  3. Well today I've been given cards and gifts. I'm starting to think I'll have to leave my jobs more often. Racked up about £110 in gift cards. Got given4 cans of IPA, a dozen bottles of French/Belgian beer and a bottle of Gordon's Gin. I don't even get that much for Christmas!! Although to be fair to me, I did have to make a little speech. Don't worry @Sylv3r I'll still pester you occasionally on Twitter. Lol. On a side note, late yesterday I put an offer in on a house and got it accepted straight away. Have sorted out solicitors and also got my mortgage adviser onto doing a decision in principle. So as far as my life goes, full steam ahead!!
  4. This is most definitely EPIC!! Made of WIN!!
  5. Well, I attended 2. Had every intention of being a regular though. Lol. Will most certainly still be kicking about on here now and again. Then again there's always Twitter too ( @DAZZD88 )
  6. Well, have been gearing up for leaving my current place of work for the last week or so. It's only just started occurring to about how much I might miss this place. I first came here after leaving school, as an apprentice (July 2004). At the time I was interviewed by my current line manager and the head of ICT. Then after little over a year of being here, I was taken on full-time (August 2005). Ever since then I have been learning and developing both techically and also in maturity. I've grown up here. I've seen staff and students come and go. There've been minor fallings out. There've been friendships made. A couple of years ago I discovered Edugeek and people here have helped me over the years and I'd like to think I've helped too (will also continue to do so when time is available). I'd just like to thank everyone here who has helped me including @Sylv3r @Hightower @witch @nephilim and many others. To quote Arnie ... "I'll be back!"
  7. OMG you're one of those people?? Burn!! Burn!! I bet you also swap circle and square when playing Pro Evo because you're used to Fifa's controls, yes?
  8. It'd be unprofessional to make rude jokes about this wouldn't it? Darn it.
  9. Fiddling with the control set...you mean when you get that one of your mates that always inverts their Y-axis? That really narks me off. Especially if it's winner stays on and you get their controller afterwards.
  10. And when you get asked why they should give you the job, definitely resist the temptation to say it's because you're the dog's danglers...surprising but they may not like it (even if it's true).
  11. I don't know much about alternate controllers but that may explain my poor but improving K/D ratio on MAG.
  12. Same here. No proof of legality of software and no proof that they're allowed to copy it then NO WAY FOOL!!
  13. I routinely use a thin metal blanking plate from a PCI slot as a punchdown tool for data points. Also bodging together projector brackets from other brackets and cable ties for a temporary fix.
  14. I started as an apprentice at 16, straight out of school. I've been here ever since and I'm only just moving on now at the ripe old age of....23. Like others have said, be yourself and don't just accept the job straight away unless you get a really good vibe from the place. Depending on what type of school they are, they may ask you different questions. For example I currently work in a Catholic school and so a few of the questions related to my beliefs and how it may affect the Catholic ethos (at the time I'd no idea what ethos meant). As far as technical questions go, you'll probably just get asked about how you'd do something rather than actually being asked to do it.
  15. Racing game...GT5 (Gran Turismo 5),has to be. Headset...apparently the Plantronics Voyager Pro sets are good. I use a cheaper version and it's excellent...if only I could remember where I put it, would make playing MAG better.
  16. In that case, it's properly goosed. I'd imagine this to be very expensive...unless she's one of those jammy beggars that manages to get stuff like this done under warranty.
  17. Only thing you can really do is give it a while sitting in a warm dry place and hope that there's still a bit water in it that needs drying out.
  18. Does anyone use this in a Windows environment? Our head of music has just been to our office and said this software meets our needs and they'd like it to be installed. My question is, can it be installed over a network? Anybody?
  19. Am I the only one disappointed to be lured here by the promise of hot chicks only to find out that it did not in fact refer to women?
  20. I've just gone at the printserver in orderto try and resolve an issue we have with with not being able to restart the spooler. Shame there aren't many staff in to print out. :-(
  21. A co-worker of mine has previously added other staff here on FB (without worrying whether she can trust them or not) and one of them decided post comments and have a go at her. Myself, I only add those I trust. Yes, the point about the BTRD is valid but if your a member of your SMT has to spend time looking for such places, then it makes you wonder why they're not doing their job.
  22. I hate to be the guy to say it but there are many posts on here about this, some by myself and they include solutions too. A search should bring up some threads.
  23. I made the mistake (back when I was doing my NVQ/BTEC) of working from flash media...then it all went Pete Tong. Lesson learned.
  24. I think it's a bit harsh calling him a doofus. Yeah fair enough everybody doesn't see eye to eye with him but he is trying to make a positive change in schools in orderto give pupils a healthier lifestyle. How many things would you like to change in school? I know there are many things I'd change here and there are things I would like to change nationwide. The difference between Jamie Oliver and us is that he can use his celebrity status to bring issues such as school food to the attention of the public and wecannot.
  25. It may not actually be purchased through the school itself. By this I mean that our supplier, Insight UK have allowed any staff member of the school to purchase from them as a personal customer but still get the usual discount the school would get but with VAT added. If that makes sense. Just in case it doesn't, here's an example: Regular Supplier Price of an item: £100 Ex Vat Discounted Supplierprice: £80 Ex vat Personal Purchase from Supplier using discount would be: £80 +20% (VAT) = £96
