It might be the HDMI port on your desktop/laptop? I had the same problem once before on my laptop. VGA worked fine but HDMI wasn't working after it was working perfectly. Plug your HDMI cable in and wiggle it about and see if the port is loose? That's what i did and realised that was the fault. (Still need to get round to soldering it back into place) Hope this helps
