  1. I just have an RSS feed to Tom's Hardware news and PC Pro news. I get the odd mag now and again if it's got something interesting in.
  2. I know this might ounddaft but have you tried a basic CHKDSK H: /R? We had to run this on our RAID5 set upon our server when our server room got really hot and the disks in our server died. Luckily one was only temporarily out of action which allowed us to rebuild the RAID array and run CHKDSK to repair some damaged files. All in all I think we only lost a few minor files, if that.
  3. @albertwt Just for reference, how much would that kit set you back?
  4. Seconded. I traded my Oblivion in for PS3 because I got bored with it. It was good but sometimes to do quests and find places you wanted to be could be a right PITA. One of my best Oblivion moments was killing the ogres that had taken over a house by sneakily using fireball spells where they could reach me and damaging their HP. Also geting the cutlass from one of the ships down by a dock and using that as my sole weapon was good.
  5. When myself and another sorceress took on the Ancients on Diablo 2: LOD. We had a barbarian with us but they either died or disappeared. We both ran out of mana and mana potions and were running around until our mana had sufficiently recharged enough to cast the odd spell. Then we had to run some more. Was physically quite a challenge to stay away from the Ancients. It sounds sad but anyone who has played D2:LOD will know what I mean.
  6. So far I've found zero evidence to confirm or deny whether this is true or not. I would suggesst though that there will be no problem with compatibility on other systems but you ask this in store.
  7. I can't but ifyou think about it,it'd be pretty pointless if it were true. I shall do some research and get back to you.
  8. You could dress up as a cow.
  9. I raise you the modern Planet of The Apes...I fell asleep twice while watching it on a borrowed DVD and at the same point in the film too, just when the guy's ship goes through the wormhole or whatever it was. I've not bothered watching it again because next time I just might not wake up.
  10. For me a good solution would be (without spending too much money) would be to take the output of your sky box to the input of your DVD recorder and then the output of the DVD recorder to the input of your TV. This way you can also record your SKY programmes onto DVD for watching elsewhere. In all honesty though I'd probably upgrade your DVD recorder to a Blu-ray player.
  11. I love Diablo 2 (especially with the LOD expansion pack). I recently got back into it and can spend/wastre a good couple of hours just wandering round questing, trading, Xp'ing and helping people do hard quests. It's not as open as GW or other games, you can't just roam through miles and miles of landscape butit's simplicity is actually quite refreshing for me. My latest character is a soreceress and she rocks. I tried GW and I liked it but took a bit too long to get into. Might give it another bash some other time, when I have a computer worth putting it on. At the moment my desktop is knackered (and will become alinux machine when I can be bothered) and my the motherboard on my laptop is in the long slow processof failing piece by piece (USB has gone, graphics overheats way too quick, even after cleaning it and applying thermal paste and also the touchpad is on it's way out). When money is sortedout I aim to upgrade my desktop, replace my laptop (hopefully with a Macbook).
  12. Yeah mate, I'd think that's about right. Might be more now though. I didn't do direct access as I wasn't old enough but from what I can remember it'll be about that.
  13. Good to hear it Hightower. Getting your license (especially ifyou do direct access) means you can have sooo much fun on a bike. I remember when I first said to my mam that I wanted to ride a bike and she said, "Ifyou get a motorbike you can move out of the house!"...I now have two.
  14. I wouldn't mind if it was as simple as a force close of an appand I have had one of those, it was something to do with media streaming from the internet. I really liked the phone and have tried a hard reset and formatting the SD card (yeah, I was sceptical too but I figured it was worth a shot). So off to the T-Mobile shop it is on my lunch break. I just don't seem to be having much luck recently.
  15. I'm a bit gutted. After getting my phoneyesterday at about 12.20ish, it has rebooted far too many times randomly and it has crashed. So today it must go back to T-Mobile. I have read that there are somepeople who have issues with Android 2.2, some Desires overheat and some just have fault motherboards. Apparently some issues that you get with brand Desires can be fixed by re-flashing the firmware. So to summarise, I am gutted and the phone will have to go back to T-Mobile.
  16. Well my Desire has arrived and I love it. A few minor hiccups have occurred likeit froze once and randomly rebooted another time but I'm sure they were just one-offs. Do I really need a Googlemail account to download apps? Seems a bit daft if I do.
  17. I went for the Desire over the HD due to the screen size, I don't want something that huge and the desire is on my limit. It's large enough for the functionality I want but not overly large so that it looks like a paving slab. And the Z didn't seem to offer enough over the normal Desire to warrant getting it. Don't get me wrong I'd like a qwerty keyboard but the last phone I bought with a qwerty keyboard was one I hardly used. Plus I believe it'd have cost more than the normal Desire.
  18. Wow, just read about Lookout and it looks like an awesome piece of kit. I think I'll be givivng it a bash.
  19. The ability to use the Desire as a wireless hotspot did interest me. I don't know how much I'll use it but at least I know I have if I need it.
  20. Sweeeet!! I'm just way too excited to concentrate. It's like Xmas for me getting a new phone. Now at least I'll be able to connect this to the bluetooth in my car and have a protable media player as the bluetooth on my C902 is flakey at best. Been reading through peoples recommendations of apps and there are literally squillions of interesting sounding apps. I particularly like the idea of free sat-nav apps and anything that will generally save me having to buy and expensive piece of equipment.
  21. As per the title, I just can't wait until tomorrow for my new phone to arrive, my shiny new HTC Desire. I've been checking for what are the best free apps. My phone has had a knackered screen for a while (mainly because I was trying to prove how indestructible it was). So today I phoned T-Mobile and said I was thinking of jumping ship etc.. and wanted a new phone. The cheapest contract they could do me and get the phone for free was a 24 month contract (which I didn't really want but it does have benefits over the 18 month plans). So for £28 a month I get my HTC Desire free, 900 minutes, unlimited texts, unlimited web (I didn't believe it but it has been explained to me how it works, and is genuinely unlimited) and after 21 months I can upgrade my contract with no penalties, as if I was at the end of the full 24 months. I'm pleased, I just wonder how this compares with what other people have managed to get. Also, any must-have app suggestions would be well appreciated.
  22. I was at the back, just inside the tent at the right hand side. I was trying to look cool by mixing in with some black guys and look cool but I fear I looked a bit like Vanilla Ice. Lol.
  23. I saw them at Leeds this year and they were excellent. I'm by no means a Pendulum fan (I don't have their albums and know virtually none of there songs, bar the most popular) but I liked their performance. Also In the NME tent, some guy was pretending to be Spiderman by climbing one of the scaffoling columns holding up the tent and he did a pretty good job.
  24. How do I react? Ditch everything electronic and call myself by another name for a start. Then afterwards I'd make sure I dress in inconcspicuous clothing with maybe a baseball cap or something on my head. I can't really cut my hair anyways because I'm going bald (which at 22 is quite depressing). I could shave my facial hair completely off. The biggest thing would be to avoid major built-up areas in favour of smaller towns as there is less chance of 'Big Brother' spotting you. I'd also get my hands on a gun to protect myself with in case the would-be pursuers got too close. I don't quite know how I'd deal with money, maybe borrow from a trusted source and insist on cash only. I've watched things like Prison Break, Shooter (film with Mark Wahlberg) and things like this seem quite a possible reality. Also there is The Event which has recetly started airing and is quite good, even though the pilot episode is hellishly confusing. The ideas of going to a major city and becoming a homeless person is a decent enough idea but I don't think it suits me. Also the idea abotu withdrawing all your cash, the problem is that if you're in a hurry then you can only withdraw your max from the cashpoint and then max from over the counter, which would give me about £800 and although this is a fair sum it'd leave me with a paper trail.
  25. I can't imagine working the festivals would be as much fun as getting wrecked in a field and going on like a knob. Lol. Then again I've never tried the working bit.
