  1. There wouldn't be compressed files like zip files in the root of C: would there? This tends to slow down Windows Explorer. Also when you have defragged, often a third-party tool will allow you to optimize as well. Have you tried this?
  2. I'd say it looks like a canny deal. I was thinking a while ago of getting a DSLR but I have a short attention span and would most likely never use one enough so for me I'm going to save up for a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7. On a side note the Panasonic bridge cameras like the FZ28 and possibly older cameras should be able to do manual shutter speed. I'd imagine most bridge cameras will do this.
  3. I believe that stands for SENTINEL and CRYSTANARIUM POINTS.
  4. I have the guide at home and IIRC you are about 2 or 3 chapters from the end. Only thing is they may be longish chapters.
  5. This is the first FF I've bought and I think it's pretty darn awesome. Even if the battling doesn't do it for you or the rest of the game play you have the awesome cut-scenes to ogle at. I'm only up to chapter 6 and some of the battles are fairly difficult but most of the time I have been using auto attack out of pure laziness so this hasn't helped me. I'm starting to get the hang of the battle system and it's getting quite interesting.
  6. I don't generally drink just one thing. I am a man of many tastes and I flitter between JD, Guiness, Tetleys, Stella etc... I also once bought some Smirnoff Apple flavoured vodka and I was quite surprised at how nice it was seeing as I don't drink a lot of vodka, just mix it with lemonade or with fizzy apple. I mostly do my alcohol shopping in Tesco or Morrisons.
  7. I shall be going to Download and to the Leeds Festival. Wasn't going to do Download but my mate had a spare ticket and then they announced the headliners...ACDC, Aerosmith and Rage Against the Machine...how could I not go?? Lol. Of course Leeds hasn't been announced yet so having pre-ordered my tickets was risky but I find Leeds never disappoints.

    I want a PS3!

    Awesome, thanks mate.

    I want a PS3!

Will an import game play on an unmodified PS3? I don't want to buy the thing and find out it's useless, also don't want to have to modify my PS3 in any way.
  10. True. Personally I don't think you can do much harm though in presenting yourself well. Also people don't generally have a problem with a salesperson until they get screwed over by them...or unless they try and sell you something you don't want (which incidentally the book does mention).
  11. Just it mentions about how you should present yourself to the customer and also the different qualities a good PC tech should possess.
  12. Just received the All In One guide buy Michael Meyers and I'm only half way through the second chapter, yet I have learned quite a few things about what I'm doing wrong. For instance I look pretty scruffy by most peoples definitions and in truth probably my own too, changing my appearance slightly may well give customers more confidence/trust in me. I actually feel a bit disappointed in myself at how over the past couple of years I have allowed myself to slip. Does anyone else have experience of this kind of realisation?
  13. Yes indeed this is incredibly fast but you may be one of those elite gamers that spends hours upon hours sharpening their reflexes and tactics. I found some German players I was once in a game with were like this, they took the objective within the first 2-3 mins and then we won the game in another 5 or so.
  14. Mine works fine!! :D
  15. Got my vote
  16. Totally agreed, especially the Ninjas vs Pirates bit. I'm just waiting for Bravo to do a Deadliest Warrior episode with ninjas and pirates.
  17. In the words of James May, "Oh c*ck!"
  18. So when was this update released? Does it definitely only affect fat PS3s? Most importantly....when I get home and try to use my PS3 tonight, will it be borked?
  19. We get this problem too with 7.0.4. We just get the kids to leave the machine for a couple of minutes then logon again. Seems to be okay. TBH I personally have not liked Ranger since we got it and it's not our choice either, it's our line manager's.
  20. This is true. I used to also own an old Atari, the one with the wooden case and the sliding switches, the flicky reset switch. I'll have to try and find some pics. Alas though, it died and I then got a 7800. EDIT: CLICKY
  21. Even though I'm only 21 (22 on 18th of Feb) the other day I was reminiscing about my love of our old Commodore 64 and how I loved playing Outrun and Thundercats etc... Well I got a special offers email from Play.com and check it out. Anybody else for some retro gaming?
  22. I haven't experienced any updates yet. Although I can understand where you come from saying it's boring and tedious. However I do think that once you get the hang of upgrading your skills and you learn the maps etc...then it becomes really quite good. Reach lvl 15 and you can command your own squad and re-allocate your skill points which improves things dramatically because by then you know what you should have been allocating your points to. I will also recommend again, a headset. Coordinating your troops and getting your tactics in order is vital to swift and simple victory.
  23. Well guys I've owned MAG for nearly a week now and it is well worth the money. First of all it's the only game I know of that supports up to 256 simultaneous players. Add to that the level of competition online and you'll see why it's so fun. Last night I managed to rack up about 330+ pts in one game which earned me an invite to a group of Americans which was hilarious hearing them crack on about their feats of destruction within MAG. To get the best out of the game you really should have yourself a bluetooth headset so you can communicate properly. [/willy waving] [/amazement]
  24. I'm assuming you have already set up your administrative install point using the netcopy msi on the cds and entered your license key?
  25. Haha, Mediator, Serif....we have all of these. Our problem is our Head of IT goes on training courses and the what not and sees software that looks great....then she purchases it. Funnily enough this is how we've ended up with a Mac Mini and a Macbook in our office. OOOO shiny...
