  1. They’re like projector lamps and toner cartridges, just a way to rinse customers. At least APC keep using the same battery type - our many generations of 3000VA models all use the same batteries.
  2. Salamander for reducing onsite, M365 and GW workloads.
  3. Without the fix above I couldn't deploy BIOS images, but MS's hotfix didn't work for me and I still needed the step in my task sequence.
  4. In the normal place - Devices, Chrome devices, drill down on the OUs at the side, then you should see the list of devices by serial number. De-provision is an option on each one.
  5. Ozone and toner dust - we just make sure they're well vented. Our little copier area with no windows had a wall fan fitted.
  6. Yes, I’ve had this on a local admin profile. Deleting that profile, then logging in again, fixed it. You can use Group Policy to delete profiles over a certain age. It’s a sledgehammer and if you apply it wrong, you could wipe a user’s locally stored documents if they have them. Otherwise, it works fine.
  7. Quite simple - as they obviously can’t be trusted, fishing needs to be suspended there. It does mean lumping the perpetrators in with everyone else, but fishing can be done elsewhere (or preferably, nowhere [emoji35]) and these birds must take priority.
  8. Whatever it is, needs to be manageable with GP natively and without touching Powershell.
  9. Under User & Browser Settings (in the Chromebooks section of Devices) Single sign-on SAML-based single sign-on for Chrome OS devices Enable SAML-based single sign-on
  10. It took about an hour today - that answered that! That was from getting the confirmation email. My test Chromebook is now managed, and I found the setting to allow users to log on with their O365 login with SAML.
  11. I've just ordered some Edu Upgrade licenses for our Chromebooks. I've received the confirmation email from Google. How long does it typically take for these to appear in the console so I can start to assign them to devices?
  12. WG have started to issue Chromebooks to schools. These come with Enterprise Management Licenses and are pre-tied to Hwb. The Admin interface in Hwb Google Workspace allows you to de-provision them. I don’t see a downside.
  13. I believe it's like the ArubaOS-CX switches, you can stack with two DACs (so you can chain them when stacking lots of switches for redundancy). The stacking ports on the second switch should be configured before attaching the stacking cables.
  14. I hate Brother laser printers - I don’t rate them at all - but their label printers have been excellent for us, and the software that comes with them works well.
  15. Decent old card those. When that starts to happen though, it won’t be drivers - it’ll be years of heat cycles and failing cooling and subsequent damage to the components/GPU. My old 6870 did it after the original fan died. No issues with the replacement 6950 (which was £20 - doubt you’d get one for that now!)
  16. Wow, that will be old! AMD did final drivers in 2015 for 4xxx series (which I’ve found to be pretty stable) and 5xxx and 6xxx weren’t long after. My 6950 is still going strong (even if the fan bearings are dying) and is rock solid stable. Any old card will do for now. A cheap second hand 77xx or older R7 card if you can find one, will be on much newer drivers.
  17. Yes, sorry I should have remembered. You'll need to assign the A1 licenses without those included, for now, and add them back in afterwards. $StaffPlanEdu = New-MsolLicenseOptions -AccountSkuId tenancyname:STANDARDWOFFPACK_FACULTY -DisabledPlans SHAREPOINTENTERPRISE_EDU,EXCHANGE_S_STANDARD $AllUn = Get-MsolUser -All foreach ($eachuser in $AllUn) { Set-MsolUserLicense -UserPrincipalName $eachuser.UserPrincipalName -AddLicenses yourtenancy:STANDARDWOFFPACK_FACULTY -LicenseOptions $StaffPlanEdu } You'll need to double check the DisabledPlans against your errors, as there are a few names for Sharepoint and Exchange that will tie in to your current licenses.
  18. Have you looked at alternatives? https://code.visualstudio.com/migrate-from-brackets BlueGriffon
  19. I started typing my reply before yours appeared I think I got distracted by some bright colours, or a bird, or something.
  20. I'm not sure that can work without Item-level targeting, but I'm often wrong! To achieve this, I use Item-level targeting (in GPP Drive Maps, on the Common tab). This allows me to apply a drive mapping GPO at a root level (so applicable to all staff, say) then only apply it if the staff member is a member of a security group. It's effectively what yours is doing - and may be what you currently have on your old domain and you've missed it.
  21. I've only worked on Hybrid personally, as it suits the way I'm choosing to carry on using Exchange. However, MS documents cutover pretty well: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/mailbox-migration/cutover-migration-to-office-365 Having Outlook Anywhere set up, especially on older versions, is the proviso. You also need to make sure your accounts work between your on-prem and O365 environments okay - so that permissions are in place to move the mailboxes.
  22. You can Hybrid migrate, or cutover. Cutover doesn't leave you with the need to keep running the old box. Hybrid ends up working rather like Exchange to Exchange - you move mailboxes etc across via the ECP.
  23. I can't find a metric where the Intel one is better. https://www.notebookcheck.net/R5-4500U-vs-i5-1035G1_11687_11411.247596.0.html
  24. You can run A1 alongside A3, so when you disable A3 there's no loss of functionality.
  25. ADMT (Active Directory Migration Toolkit). I used it heavily back in 2015, it was superb. Spun up a new VM for it (on the destination domain).
