  1. For anybody trying to set up AM7 Reports to show data in a graph, there is an issue for which I have registered a new SupportNet CR. The essence of this issue is below and this forms the actual wording for the CR:- A graph within an individual AM7 report can be set up to display data labels at certain points on the graph. These labels can be set to produce the Grade Aspect only if the Y Axis is displayed in full (i.e. from Point Score Zero). If the Y Axis is truncated to just show higher Points Scores, to emphasise the trends on the graph, then the Graph Labels only pull through the points scores for the Aspects and not the actual Grades themselves. Please look at addressing this issue as soon as possible. KB83372 indicates that it is not possible to display the actual Grade label, but this is possible as outlined above. The CR has been produced after an extensive investigation by the SIMS Support Teams to resolve this issue, which we discovered whilst producing new Reports for this year. Your support for the CR, which is No.1103-859430, would be most apprecitated.
  2. That is definitely WRONG Matt. It should be:- '..... add machine to SIMS workstation list in SOLUS3 UI, drink coffee, use SIMS.'
  3. You are facing a mammoth learning curve if you wish to acquire a sound enough knowledge base to support a school with SIMS. I guess that you should first find a friendly SIMS Partnership School fthat you can visit and view the system first hand. Then, LA SIMS Support Teams and Capita Support themselves run courses on all the different areas of functionality that SIMS has, but the size of the whole package means that there are many different courses needed to cover all the areas. Most high end users that are proficient in all areas of the SIMS Software are usually those who have worked with the software for some considerable time and have grown with it! You really do need a working knowledge of the whole system to be able to understand it thoroughly.
  4. Maybe they have kept me separate from you other Edugeekers on purpose to prevent any fights breaking out .........
  5. From a personal point of view I am sick of this company mass mailing their literature to our school email account. I have tried a number of times to direct it straight to the trash folder, via the filtering system, and have failed for some reason. Consequently, I continually have to delete the emails that are constantly arriving! Perhaps they do not realise that mass mailing has the complete opposite effect to that which they expect!
  6. Awwwwwwwwww..............!!! I'm on 29th March! You'll have to get me a pint some other time! It'll be very interesting if some of you guys that sometimes don't approve of some of my actions on here are there too!
  7. You can enter the awarding body as part of the Non-EDI Results process. You do need an up-to-date version of the qual file in order for the process to recognise all the details.
  8. ..and search for the Awarding Body:- Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music When you have found the particular award then click the Performance Measures link to find the appropriate Points Scores for the Level of Award!
  9. I would use the Non-EDI entry method if they appear on the National Qualifications Lists. Before you can do this you need to know the EB, Levels, Points equivalences, Discount Codes etc. etc.
  10. Being as we were asked............................! SIMS is excellent! It (or it's partners) covers virtually every aspect of School Administration and underpins Teaching & Learning. Support for the software, direct from Capita, is nothing short of first class! As most on here will say tho' - I am biased! Now over to the rest of you to praise the product you use. I hope that nobody attacks SIMS as a result of this post because then I will have to argue the point. It would be nice if the positives of all systems could be solely addressed, for a change!
  11. Ha! Ha! Ha! Don't worry - we have all been there at some point! One of my famous sayings here is 'If it don't work then look for the obvious!' Amazing how many times it works!
  12. Sorry then Chunks I cannot offer further advice. I do not sort our Options within SIMS and so I have not got to this stage yet. I would log a new Support Case if I was you!
  13. Sorry but something else that is obvious but one has to ask - do you have full Permissions from Sysman to edit the data?
  14. Have you sent a basic dataset to SIMS from NT6? And if so, are you working in the correct year?
  15. I won't know if my application has been accepted for a while yet. So I am not counting my chickens. They might be fed up of seeing me down there at Bedford!
  16. No way! With all the support that I give them on here I expect them to buy the drinks!
  17. Performance is better on the Spring build of Discover than what we had initially on the FT. And they will be looking at it further - in particular for the Autumn 2011 build, I believe!
  18. The UAT room is not that big - maybe a dozen or so workstations. So that would limit the number invited to about 2 dozen! Unless they actually use a different venue, but that is not the 'norm'! My guess is that this will be well oversubscribed just as Discover FT was. And they will select so that as wide a variety of LAs and Schools as possible is represented. I guess that those with lots of experience of UAT might have a slight advantage but it is no guarantee of selection!
  19. I attended a consultation meeting re. this a good many years ago in Birmingham! Obviously we were asking for too much at that time.
  20. It's on the SIMS roadmap but the functionality is never published on there!
  21. Hopefully I will get a place on the UAT to find out. It will be a total rebuild from the current v6 to real .net v7.
  22. We are all frustrated with Sysman6. I attended a meeting a good many years ago when the possibility of an upgrade was discussed. Unfortunately it led to nothng at that time. I think that Capita wanted to upgrade EO6 first, but that has proved impossible because of the immense number of changes that keep happening re. exams nationally! Unfortunately (though I know nothing about the new system at the moment) I don't think it can be anything else but complicated, bearing in mind the number of fields of data that it has to handle and the varied and different ways that all the SIMS schools will wish to use it. I just need it to be a bit more logical!
  23. I just booked my place on one of the UAT Sessions for System Manager 7. It's due for release with the SIMS Summer Upgrade! Not that I am guaranteed a place of course. Though I have been wrestling with Sysman6 for many, many years!
  24. There goes that echo again............... echo again ................. ech............
  25. Are you trying it on WP7 too? I may be interested in the result then, even though SLG works well on WP7!
