I noticed on my RSS feed of the most recent threads, that there were multiple new threads selling cheap Nike's and other top brand shoes. When I clicked the links, though, those threads are gone. I think that it is outrageous that the cabal of mods on here keep removing these fantastic offers so that they can get all the cheap goods for themselves. So, c'mon mods - give us a fair deal. Ah! You're assuming load balancing - I'm assuming crash I have the alternate in for the time when the local DNS is not available.

Are you sure about the DNS servers only pointing at themselves? I have two DNS servers and in the TCP/IP properties of the LAN NIC on both of them I point to itself as the "preferred DNS server" and to the other DNS server as the "Alternate DNSserver". Is that not right?

I'd change the internal LAN to use the 192.168.x.x range to be honest. Nice to have a clear distinction. I'm not 100% sure what these 10.15.1.1 and 10.12.1.201 ranges are in your post? Admin and Curriculum ranges? If so, are they on separate physical networking?

If you have a MLE too there will be a lot of uploading.

Virtual Server software is free - Microsoft will get you on the additional server licences once you install the virtual servers.

With regard to Virtualization hardware - have people bought any yet? If so, what are you using? I presume that you have two virtual servers in case one fails plus a SAN plus backup. Also, I've been told not to virtualize SQL products, but I know for a fact that some people are, so how has that gone?

No, no, no, that's history. Sure, that was definitely the case up to September perhaps, but not any more. I presume that you did all the updates - but did you install SP1? It's a much better experience since then.

You can definitely get a range of unfiltered IP addresses. You need to fill out the "WAN service change request" form and send it off to Synetrix who will make the changes pretty quickly.

You also need a split DHCP really. We've been through this before at some stage and I remember actually testing it during the holidays. You can log on if the Global Catalogue is missing, so the most important thing (from the client point of view) is to have a DNS server and a DHCP server available.
