Sounds like his Minecraft has not being saving to the cloud. I know you said it was Xbox but I’m hoping the theory is the same. I’m a pc player So when Minecraft saves (on a pc) it saves a local copy and uploads to the cloud. In your nephews case Looks as though it’s not completed cloud step and when your nether has switched computer it has downloaded the last known good upload. On returning to his computer the cloud sync has loaded his new world as his most recent game My thought to try. See if you can locate the my world file from the Xbox file system and try seeing if it has cached multiple copies. If so try loading any copies that were saved from the most recent point before he lost his world

Do you need all those quotes?!??! If you have copy pasted those quotes into cmd then try manually typing the quotes if needed. Unless any part of the cmd has spaces in I can’t see you needing quotes(but I also could be wrong here) You could be right with papercut may be a hurdle? Do you have accounts setup? Is the account your printing from set to print to a shared account? I would start by setting up direct printer then try printing again. At least you can narrow down whether it papercut or not. However You mention when you hit enter you just carriage return down. Does it not exit out of the cmd so the c:\users\… shows for the next cmd. This would suggest a open cmd that it is expecting a variable input intentional or not referring back to my quotes above

Will only affect us indirectly. Most of my schools use other sims support company’s rather than ess direct. Maybe bad news for I guess our third party companies that may have to go thru India first before getting an answer on the more problematic issues

As an education tech of 20+ year sign in app is my go to approved for visitor and staff sign in system.

You would think so wouldn’t you!

Yes I think it was this I read but sure it mentioned creative suite also. Maybe it was a similar reporting article. I agree for any out of date the official line is not supported go with this. But schools tend to blur the lines where I am not in a position I can blur the lines. The conversation is easier when I have things like this in my back pocket to evidence and support my advice

Also using it here in the same way others have suggested but also use shifts to assign shift pattern. More useful for holidays as our onsite could be at any one of the sites doing project work Some you saying your limited by schools having their own tennant. Have you consider joining all your schools in to an MTO. Multi tenant organisation. Allows from cross comms and sharing work

If it is anything like shifts you have one planner per team, and only the owner can create the planner for that team

I am unfortunately advising as a third party and have to be seen to doing the right thingfor legality reason. Regardless on my actual thoughts and opinions on the matter But yeah I agree

Wondfer if you all could help, I read somewhere , im sure it was here that Adobe reportedly instructing organisations to remove all versions of CS3-6 and that no one is permitted to use/install the software following the deactivation of their servers. Since reading this i have been moving schools away from CS and not had much resistance however one of my customers needs a little more convincing, and i was hoping to find the article / adobe publication i once read informing us that all cs suites had to be removed Thanks in advance

[sccm 2012] USB-C to Ethernet - issues with imaging via SCCM?
dapaulio replied to 0xnxmeless's topic in O/S Deployment
Go to organisational hierarchy settings. There is a tab about conflicts. Enter the MAC address of all your usb Ethernet adapters. This puts an exception on the dongle to build multiple computers. -
I’ve been using this for years and never had the need to upgrade it in those years. What’s the benefit of upgrading it now? Other than it now costs to use it. Can I still use the old versions I have

This would solely depend on the reason the ticket is on hold. If the support company have put it on hold to stop sla clock because they don’t have an available engineer to resolve your issue then no this is misuse the system to solely circumnavigate the sla between you and them. If the support company cannot progress a ticket because of an external cause then yes the ticket can be agreed to go hold with the customer. Important emphasis on the term agreed by both parties. Eg the vendor has to make improvements to the software and this make take a month this is then an agreed timeframe for review. Between vendor and support company the ticket will still be in progress. Between support company and customer it could be agreed to be put on hold, or (we have) awaiting vendor which stops the support company sla with you (the customer) However the support company should be challenging the vendors to meet their sla on your behalf. Once the vendor offers a solution then the clock starts again between you and support company to apply the solution within the sla agreed between you and support company. These sort of tickets though normally fall outside the acceptable tolerance of an sla. A company may say 90-95% of all tickets will be resolved within SLA

Rename staff member in Staff Notebook (OneNote)
dapaulio replied to sdc's topic in How do you do....it?
Your sure it’s display name and not container name? There is the element of it can take a while for teams to catch up sometimes. It took two weeks for teams to realise I had removed the avatar picture off several users -
Stop kids locking each others accounts
dapaulio replied to ken_kaniff's topic in How do you do....it?
This was one of the main reason why we introduced biometric. If kids wanted to steal dinner money they would have to chop someone’s hand or face off to do so -
Your story rang many alarm bells as you experience resonates so close to home. Having worked in education ict for over 20years I think back to all the occasion I naively worked over and above with no remuneration or gratitude. Your story pulled on some heart strings as my realisation turned to my family. Although I knew deep down I was damaging my family for work I never properly acknowledged it until I read many people’s lifetime experience within ICT. So much so I walked up to my 2 kids bedroom and hugged them in their sleep. In my earlier years we had three techs including myself and a network manager. I was the senior tech. With two years they made redundant my two colleagues and network manager. That was the point I unknowinglythen started working like my network. 24/7/365. Weekend holidays were absorbed with constant phone calls and emails. Year went by and the school sold me out to a msp. The tupe process broke me mentally but a look back now and it was the push I needed to recover. My new managers made me realign my priorities although it is to this day difficult to keep too. I still work within schools and manage a great team of individuals technicians who I share my experiences and look after their welfare so they don’t fall into the same trap I did. I’m so glad you survived. Call it luck, call it fate, I’m not a believer in either but We are all good people that put others and sometime strangers first before ourself definitely and sometime our loved ones and I believe that counts for something. Give good rewards with good This year has been an eye opener having minor health issues with massive weight gain caused due to stress, workload, and not having time for myself and my family and this I am working towards a better work life balance. A note to our younger generation of it techs. Working in the industry we are in You can be left feeling lonely and isolated. By all means be flexible and hard working as it goes along way in your career but don’t let your school take the p155. Don’t suffer in silence and talk to someone I too am a 25 year workaholic looking to restore that balance

Can you still embed bbc I player in a html frame. Used to embed it in xibo a long time ago. You could embed other live streams also -
And this is where I feel serverless breaks down and is not quite ready for some organisation types. whilst ms have solutions to serverless not all accompanying services are best fit approach eg printing under certain circumstances. I see two technical problems here one is finding the correct driver suited for the customer (you) needs and then how your ict support provider and the printer installers are then to deploy them. The other problem is the comms between the installer and the ict company which tend to have boundaries depending on your contract with both. This boundaries tends to have caverns of grey areas where no one accepts responsibility. These boundaries are normally aired in a pre install meeting and should never be assumed who is doing what. I would have your installer and your ict support in on all meetings so that these boundaries can be defined as installers have a tendency to blindly say and assume your ict department will sort it without knowing your contractual term with them. Intune (I assume) your using will find and use windows universal drivers to print which less complex print outs would be suffice. However for the more complex needs vendor specific drivers are needed Can’t speak for xerox but I know Ricoh have there own universal driver which still works fine for 80% of general printing works find but for the remaining 20% specific colour intensive printing the universal driver is not sufficient. This in schools affects mainly the art and media departments. For these the PS driver tends to be better. But unless you have some solution that your ict will stand behind and support, it is a manual install of the PS driver on those needing it. Include your ict provider on all meetings. Personally this is where I echo the reviews of paper cut, their mobiity print deploy solution is far superior than window print deployment thru intune as you can give specific drivers to deploy. It’s not flawless as many other factors can attribute to failure to deploy but we find these to be few and far between in a school setting that is intune. I doubt the charity has No where near the demand of a school would have so it may be your best option to request a demo from a paper cut reseller. How many printers do you have ??? Paper cut could be outside a charity budget for a whole fleet and this is where finding the right provider is key, as if you have 5-10 printer across all users you may be able to save having 1 or 2 bigger mfd with paper cut cloud solution installed. Another idea on printing quality is Xerox if memory serves has a group of gestesner drivers that also better imo than the xerox driver, have you tried this??? Try the gest postscript drivers see if that’s any better??? Without knowing the circumstances and contractual relations between yourself, your ict provider and your print installers it’s difficult to comment on that part, I can kind of understand with boundaries but not necessarily agree with their lack of input. Personally I would be asking questions and arranging a three meet with all parties to iron out these boundaries.

Upgrading users to A3... Do they still need A1 ?
dapaulio replied to mikkydoos's topic in Cloud Services
Done this for a couple of our schools now, and the most efficient way I found doing this is Don’t rush it. My first attempt I created so many errors transferring the license quickly it didn’t have time to remove the direct assigned a1 before group assigning the a3. Even for azure it can take a number of minutes to fully propagate all licenses as a bulk request Things to note a1 has a surplus 365 app license you had to apply to use office apps. A3 has this included. So in my case I was removing 2 licenses and adding 1. Also note down who has mailbox delegations as I found this cleared the delegations as well. Shouldn’t be that many really but watch out for clearing O365 users who are used as shared mailbox accounts as these will need an a1 still applied and tend to have delegates assigned - create an ad/ azure ad security group for a3 licensing. (Don’t add the users in just yet.) - Bind the group to the license. And make sure the license is ready to be applied. - take an export of the users before - bulk remove all a1 licenses so all users became unlicensed - check you know all the a1 licenses have been removed - add all your a3 users to the security group - ad sync if your a hybrid - check license applies - after 10 mins check for conflicts / error and correct in Entra identity | groups | a3 security group. If any error it will show as a banner when you click the group -
Classroom Lock Down Messaging
dapaulio replied to andytheguv's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I second netsupport notify for this. We got ours for to tick lockdown protocols. But I know a lot of the schools I support use it for general instant messaging. I also use it to notify staff to get out of sims before I upgrade etc etc -

Can you simple not do this with group policy? -
Yeah the original issue wasn’t mfa but when they enforce mfa it exasperated the issue even further as it ended up in an infinite loop which left their support scratching their heads for ages (with us)
