  1. Over the summer, we have been asked to print badges for all students to use in LiveRegister instead of using their pin numbers. There are well over 1,000 students from Y7 - Y11. In previous years, the badges have been printed off and scanned into LiveRegister using a Wave ID scanner to manually read the Card Serial Number (CSN) into the "Card(s)" field of LiveRegister. Understandably, this process is now going to be even more labour intensive than before. Has anyone had any experience with LiveRegisters purchased solution to automatically enter the CSN into LiveRegisters database or has anyone read the CSN from AD and had experience importing it directly into LiveRegister themselves? I'd appreciate hearing your advice!
  2. I have expressly told the student that we can help powerwash it, they need to go away and ensure all of their data is backed up first. I don't feel like I can do any more in warning the student that they are responsible for their data in this instance.
  3. If that's the only option, I'll do it- but I'm trying to find a solution that doesn't involve the student having to backup all of their data and reinstate it (As the kids always suck at backing things up).
  4. Hey Nick, The student has the work account as the owner account. Clicking the down arrow on the log-in screen only shows the message that the account is administrated by the school (Or something along those lines), this removes the option to sign out. I am unsure of any way in Google Admin to remove this as the chromebook does not show up as a provisioned device or anywhere in Google Admin for that matter.
  5. A student has been using their personal chromebook to access their school account. I am at a loss as to go about removing the work profile without deleting the users main account? So far I have tried: Logging into the personal account and remove the user from there but the work account doesn't appear. Ending the sessions for the user in google admin Force-Sign out and resetting the sign-in cookies. I am unsure of the correct way to remove this profile in ChromeOS?
  6. Hi all, I have been having trouble getting SIMS Solus3 Deployment Service to push to PCs. I am getting the following error "COM Error: Server execution failed (Excception from HRESULT: 0xu0080005 (CO_E_SERVER_EXEC_FAILURE)). I am noticing the event log: The server {73E709EA-5D93-4B2E-BBB0-99B7938DA9E4} did not register with DCOM within the required timeout. I have restarted the following services: Solus3 Agent Service Solu3 Deployment Service This issue can be resolved by restarting the SIMS Server as a whole but I am hesitant to do this each time I need to push Solus3 as it feels like taking a hammer to a screw. I was just curious as to whether anyone else has experienced this specific error when using the deployment service? Thanks!
  7. Yep, this has been happening for a week now. I gave myself the relevant permissions and it also occurs just on SIMS Examinations and had the same issue, I'm thinking now the issue could lie with Papercut. It appears to just be happening with this PC.
  8. Hi all, I've got an issue where the Examinations Officer is using Microsoft Print to PDF in SIMS, this is calling the Papercut prompt to select a department whenever attempting to save the output of reports. For some strange reason, this occurs on SIMS Examinations and works on a multitude of other software. Troubleshooting: I have set Microsoft Print to PDF as the default printer It utilises the Print to File Port Driver is Microsoft Print To PDF On SIMS Printer Setup is set as Microsoft Print to PDF I am at a loss as to why Papercut would see this as a call to arms, am I missing some configuration?
  9. The PC has one DP port and one HDMI port, the Monitors have one DP port and one HDMI port. I'm going to order a batch of DP cables once I have tested this with a single cable. the PCs are definitely not DP++ as its only the DP logo stamped into the IO plate and not DP++.
  10. Ah thanks! That's really good to know, from the few interactions I had with them they have been really helpful. I will try the native cable solution and see if there's anything they can do to help. Edit: Thanks for moving this. Sorry, I was unaware of the other forum!
  11. They're VeryPC's FLE-520AMA-W11PNSD. From the replies on this thread, I have ordered a "Thsucords DisplayPort Cable 0.5M, Certified Ultra Slim 8K 4K DP to DP 1.4 Cable,Flexible @ Thin Display Port Cable Support 8K@60Hz, 4K@120Hz 32.4Gbps for Laptop/TV/PC/Monitor" from Amazon to test just using a native cable, I had also gone through and checked the drivers were up-to-date when I thought this issue was just localised to a few PCs but it has been across all of the new PCs. There's only one HDMI port which is taken by the SMARTBoards. I didn't realise converting between cables was so complex! Thanks for the advice, all!
  12. Sorry, it's the 70 new PC's we purchased through a PC Manufacturer that we are having trouble with. They have DP ports but do not support DP++; so the passive DP to HDMI cables that came from the PC Manufacturer cause the monitors to time out.
  13. Hey all, My first job starting at this new school was to replace over 70 PCs to bring them in line with the Windows 11 specs, these were purchased through a local computer manufacturer before I started. They came with monitors and DP to HDMI cables which connect the monitors and HDMI to HDMI which connects to the SMARTBoards or 2nd monitors in office situations. The issue is that these monitors are disconnecting sporadically. I've noticed that these PCs are not DP++ and we have been sent these passive DP to HDMI cables and I believe this be the cause: The monitors have DP ports so I could buy a supply of DP cables, or I could purchase active DP to HDMI cables. I do feel like this is something the computer manufacturer should have picked up on when the order was placed, I'm just seeking a bit of advice as to whether you guys would bring it up with the manufacturer or buy the cables?
  14. That's what I'll tell them, I wasn't too sure off the top of my head if there was any other way and thought I'd ask before shooting them down. Thanks!
  15. Hi all! I am looking for advice on how I would best go about blocking a student (on a managed move) from logging into the email address from their previous school when logged into our network as it appears they have been spending all of their time e-mailing old teachers. Thanks!
