Technically you can't have more than one teacher per registration group. The way I do it is...... Add your new users in Focus/System Manager/Manage Users ..... Attendance Operator or Class Teacher permissions... Focus/School/Pastoral Structure/Current Structure ...... Create a new Joint Supervisor in the relevant class. They should then hit the Take Register button on the home page, browse for the relevant class teachers name (not class name) (top left) and open and edit the registration marks from there. That should do it. * I'm not 100% sure you need to add them as a joint supervisor but I always do out of habit. Works for me.

Just to help the OP, There are loads of software alternatives (if that's what the music teacher could use). All the above plus Magix Music Maker Acid Pro is pretty good still As far as interfaces go the Focusrite units are quite nice but you could easily get away with cheaper Behringer or Alesis stuff. Just had a look at the price of Mac Minis nowadays ...... Shseeeesh!!

Probably a daft suggestion but.... There's always Garageband on an Ipad. Might be cheaper. Similar-ish app and there's plenty of DAC/interfaces for them.

WSUS always fell over when I tried putting the updates on another drive... might try that again soon actually. EDIT: come to think of it, I think I was trying to put the updates on a network share... thats probably why it fell over.

WSUS really does not want to not be on a VM. It will eat ALL of your disk space in a short amount of time. Mines sitting at 250GB right now. IMO, 2 SSD's isn't really going to give you a great deal of redundancy... not ideal, especially as they're SSD's. As for the machines, mine basically go like this on VMWare. Aiming for minimal interruption if any one (particularly) production Windows VM needs to go down: DC1, DC2, MIS, PRINT, WSUS, WDS, FILE, BACKUP (console) - all replicated across 2 hosts. I'd also consider using virtual appliances for anything that you can. Very low CPU & disk footprints for your hypervisor. Also VA's might utilise your hardware a bit better. VA's here are: Hypervisor console, UPS console, AV console. Saves a lot of wasted resources if we were using Windows.

Someone here recommended Zen Internet to me a while ago. Going to renew with them next year. Free ADSL backup line. Instant support. Never gone down in 3 years. Good pricing too. Zero complaints. It always baffles me that a Virgin reseller always quotes much less than Virgin themselves. FYI... If you go direct with either Virgin or BT, your support is going to be bloody awful. Go with a decent reseller. EDIT: I have spoken to Wave9 too and their Sophos cloud filtering and connection bundle looks very appealing. Choosing the right filtering package is important as you'll be stuck with it for a looong time.

Depends on the age of the 'pad though. I have some old mini's still lurking that won't be DEP'd by AC2. Bah!

Hi all, I'm revisiting a old problem that now really needs sorting. I've got 2 x Esxi 6.5 essentials plus hosts, both with local storage and on a gigabit core. Current hosts are HP rack 360 G9's... 2 x 4 core Xeons each with 72Gb Ram running about 5 VM's each both replicating to the other and backing up to NAS's with Veeam. Both are 4 disk sata raid 10 arrays with esxi is installed on the array.... (why I did it like that I do not know instead of using removable storage... but hey!). Host performance is 'average'. Migrating, backing up and restoring is slow mainly due to the disk access. File storage is currently on a physical Windows box which I want to virtualise. It is server upgrade time, so I could do with some recommendations of how to achieve: a) shared storage b) get the connectivity speed up between servers and backup NAS's. Speccing the servers isn't an issue but am having trouble choosing what storage type, platform and connectivity to go for on my budget. NFS, ICSI, VSAN, Storage Spaces, local storage with Starwinds? Dedicated hardware, Windows/Linux, NAS? SAN is well out of the question due to cost. I also don't want to introduce a single point of failure as this is something that is not an issue at present. Anticipated is up to 20K for the lot maybe including a couple of 10gb switches for the core.... Currently everything lives on a flat gigabit LAN. Required is 8 -10 TB storage. What we have right now works. Its reliable, resilient and plenty quick enough for end users.. but the design really needs updating. What can you guys recommend to get the best value out of this?
