  1. Hi All Managed to sort it thanks to the help above, as follows if anyone else needs it: 1. Install putty 2. Set Putty as follows: Bits per second - 38400 Data bits - 8 Parity - None Stop bits - 1 Flow Control - None 3. Plug in console cable (We had USB to RJ45) 4. Turn on Switch and be ready for the following. 5. Press Ctrl+D select option 4 (If you miss it restart the switch) 6. Not long after press Ctrl+B (If you miss it restart the switch and go back to 5) 7. Choose "Skip current system configuration" ours was 7 8. Y to agree 9. 0 to reboot and just let it boot up 10. When booted enter "?" and press enter 11. We then choose to initialize as we just needed to reset the device fully. At this point other option where available. 12. "Y" to continue and reboot Once rebooted look for it on the network with Advanced IP Scanner and reconfigure it. Hope this helps others. Thanks GBMicros
  2. Hi Thanks Oaktech, we did hear about that funny solution. ThanksDavit2005 we now can the the txt. Does anyone know how to reset the password from here? Thanks
  3. Hi All, We have the above switch and need to reset the admin password for it. We don't have any credentials to log in via the web interface so we believe it has to be done via the console. We have tried connecting to it with Putty, COM3, Speed 9600 and 19200. When the switch starts it shows strange characters in the putty window but nothing legible. If someone knows how to 1. Get access via Putty and 2. How to then reset the password in the console. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks GBMicros
  4. Hi All I can see this had no answers to sigma'a question, we are in the same boat and need to software. Like sigma we have the same OS and similar setup Does anyone know a work round? Much appreciated. GBMicros

    SFTP Backup

Morning all Does anyone one use an SFTP backup program to backup a Mac Book to an off site location. If so which one? We have a Mac Book in school that stores a lot of photos and want to set it up so it back's up the an SFTP server off site. We currently use Iperious to back up Windows Servers but this doesn't work on Mac's. As we already pay for storage on this SFTP server we didn't want to pay for extra iCloud storage. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks GBMicros
  7. Hi Everyone Thanks for all your suggestions. We are going to trial the FE File Explorer app. So far so good. Thanks GBMicros
  8. Hi Everyone Just wanted to get some feed back on how others get photo's of iPads in school on Windows 10. We have recently upgraded the whole system to Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019. When we plug in an iPad the system doesn't see the device. Before it just add it as an additional drive on Windows 7. Tried installing iTunes on a test machine but still no. The school only wants to get access to the photo's taken. The school doesn't use Meraki or any MDM as they only have a few iPads Any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks GBMicros
  9. Hi All After a few days we came to the same conclusion as Rosslaing, DON'T connect the device to the internet. We installed Windows and all required programs we could with off-line installers. Joined it to the domain and set all settings. We have access to a WSUS server so managed to get all the updates applied. So far things look good, even retaining all the settings. No issues from SYSPREP at all, worked fine. So the solution we found for us, should anybody need it was don't let Windows 10 see the internet. Thanks for all the help. GBMicros
  10. Hi All Thanks for all the replies. Answering the questions above, This is on a physical machine (Laptop) We have never taken a VM image and used that before so not 100% sure how, we do have one with all the same pieces of software installed so it would be possible We have removed all other users and profiles We are still in the same situation with Realtek. We will have to look at using the VM Any other suggestions very welcome. Thanks GBMicros
  11. Hi All Can someone help please. We have syspreped many Windows 7 machines with no issues but are finding Windows 10 is very different due to Windows Store. 12. Hi ScottBoy Thanks for the reply. I wish I could tell you what fixed it for me but I have no idea. The teacher said she would live it for a bit to see how she got on, after asking her again later she said it had stopped. Thanks for all the help.
  13. Thanks difinity, I haven't tried this but will give it a go. 3s-gtech, I'm with you. I have used both Intel and AMD on many occasions and had no more issues with one or the other. To give feed back as to where I am with this. I went into the setting of the touch pad tried enabling and disabling various functions. None seam to make any difference, so put them all back as was. I restarted the laptop and so far the issue has gone. I wish I could say I did this ......., but I don't know what may have fixed it. Thanks
  14. Hi dwbrown, I had seen this video and the energy program it refers to isn't installed. I had also gone to Lenovo web site and downloaded the latest drive. Thanks anyway. m25man, did you get chance to send me the batch file? Thanks
  15. Thanks m25man, the thought had crossed my mind just to do an install with a normal Windows 7 disc and then install just the drivers, to see if it had the same effect. I take your point about Intel/AMD and if the school had the budget I would stick with Intel. Could you send me the batch file or would I have to purchase it from you? Thanks
