I phoned them a couple of days ago to cancel and they gave me the 90 days T&C spiel. They're saying I haven't called support to sort anything out since 2017 - which is probably true - gave up on their support ages ago. Has anyone managed to successfully get out of their contract in the 90 day period ??

[windows software] Which re-sellers do you use for MS Licensing?
mikkydoos replied to Trapper's topic in Licensing Questions
Pugh.co.uk are helpful. Prices are ok too. -

Username differences shouldn't matter. You can actually set up to work sync'd... which is better because managing accounts online is a pain if you have a lot. As long as you have you have a UPN suffix in your forest to match your external domain you can set a property in the teachers AD account..... 'ProxyAddress' (this is where you can set a different username and domain from their AD user name). As long as the users object has the correct UPN suffix selected and the correct ProxyAddress configured it should sync without creating duplicates.

Hi all, I'm looking at doing a firmware upgrade on a fairly aged Ruckus Zone Director ZD1100. B*gger me if I can can find a suitable upgrade path of firmwares. It's currently on 9.8.3.0 build 14 and I want to get it up to 9.10.2.0.63 (MR2 Refresh4). A straight upgrade isn't officially supported and I really can't afford to break it. Any idea's anyone ??? Cheers in advance

Copy and keep in sync one windows share to another
mikkydoos replied to tj2419's topic in How do you do....it?
a) You should be able to schedule every x (time) but you need to time it right so you don't get multiple tasks running concurrently. The first run will take much longer than subsequent 'syncs'. b) Depends on your switches. Look at the technet link I put there.... my command keeps perms, overwrites older, retries 3 time every x seconds, etc etc. I'd run it over a weekend and have your new path ready for a Monday morning. Like I said... depends on how much data you have and the number of files. Mine took about 2 days over a gigabit LAN but was about 5TB of data. Look at your trigger options in Task Scheduler. -
Doesnt matter as long as you draw a map. Our rooms keep changing names which makes this a flipping nightmare for me.

Copy and keep in sync one windows share to another
mikkydoos replied to tj2419's topic in How do you do....it?
MS cmd util Robocopy will do this fine for you. You might have to run a scheduled task to fire each copy task off from a batch file. How much data ?? EDIT: I did this recently from one Windows file server to another.... robocopy "%SOURCEFILEPATH%" "%DESTFILEPATH%" /e /r:3 /w:5 /fp /zb /COPY: DATSO https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/administration/windows-commands/robocopy -
You used to need modify permissions on a few files in c:\progra~1\Sims directory... but not for ages. Get them un-admin'd
