Doesn't this mean that Apple should unlock the iPhone from iTunes? Or allow MacOSx on other computers bar their own? I dont see the issue with MS including IE. For PC noobs its gonna be difficult to know where to go to get the things they are used to!!
-
To clarify on that last post: Put a file called *nameofapp*.cfg in: c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust (There is not supposed to be a space in the above path???) For example AQAMaths.cfg In the file type in the path to the application directory.
-
What are the problems you are experiencing? Ususally it is to do with the newer versions of Flash requiring an allow .cfg file to be placed in the Macromed directory in c:\windows\system32 We have it running here no problems with the latest flash.

MM thats pretty fair nuff, 4850 is still good though! A huge step from the 38xx series cards. I remember the days when I had money
-
Surely the 4870! Its far better than the 4850 and only a little more expensive!! I have one, bought it on release day and ive been really pleased! I was with the price then too! PowerColor HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 Dual DVI HDTV Out PCI-E Graphics Card - Ebuyer

Never tried it, but I don't think this is just to do with ingredients, there is probably else something behind it! There are hundreds of other products containing sweeteners.

I would say its about time to install the W7 beta for testing
-
Have you tested the hard drive for physical faults? Bar that I would suggest using an Ubuntu boot disk to read the contents of your hard drive and then copy it onto a memory stick for backup and restoring the laptop back to factory settings. Was there anything that led up to the failure? It seems odd to me that Windows didn't fix the bootmanager, it usually does in vista, sounds like something deeper could be wrong.
-
Try booting using hte disk and repairing the boot manager using bootrec /fixmbr bootrec /fixboot bootrec /scanos bootrec /rebuildbcd
-
It cant repair the boot manager? Can you get into the repair console and run chkdsk /f (or /r) cant remember which it is in vista. Have u recently uninstalled Linux or another OS?

To RM or not to RM, that is the question...
Jamo replied to Little-Miss's topic in Network and Classroom Management
Arent the RM tools still limited to a 4GB RAM server? Though it depends what you call a beefy server. Spoke to my friend who works in a large company, laughed cus our SIMS server here is about as powerful as his phone lol -

Havent some of the features of CC4 been available in Vanilla setups for a long time (eg BITS) CC4 seems to be playing catchup on some features which others have already got. We have CC3 here, and have to say its a very stable system, a few issues like profile corruption are more common than I would like but other than that it seems pretty good. Def agree that the RM system really slows up the older PCs. -
Cant you use access? MS access supports queries written in SQL and you can experiment on the local database then, no need for any other parts installed.
-
ah that would do it!! Try looking at Notepad++ for an alternative to that, it will format the files properly and make the code much easier to read!!
-
I will have to try this OS, so far I have been using Ubuntu on and off at home but thats it. Tried SuSE once too but thought KDE was horrible. Glad its working!

mmm interesting.... lol I'm kinda out of ideas, did a bit of browsing about the error message there are a couple of threads on this site which talk of problems with certain proxies and APT. Can you bypass your proxy at all? Im guessing you can access the internet itself? Have you thought of downloading rpm packages directly from WineHQ? SourceForge.net: Wine Is Not an Emulator: Files Installing the Mandriva RPMs should be ok

To play around with the Joomla package I would recommend installing XAMMP [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XAMPP]XAMPP - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] on your local machine and trialing the package. Have you ever played with any web server apps? Usually a standard web hosting package will give you everything you need to run Joomla when you are ready for a production ready setup. I beleive there is a set of requirements on the Joomla site.

I tihnk this could be the source of it. We have an RM Smartcache here which i beleive is a squid box with their name on it. Had to install OidentD and do the following create: /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/proxy ( That is a file called "proxy" in the folder /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/ ) Add the following lines to the text file: // Configure apt to use a proxy Acquire::http::Proxy "http://:8080"; Acquire::ftp::Proxy "http://:8080"; This sorted the proxy issue here.

Have you checked you have all the repos activated in Synaptic. Have a look in the options menus in the program Synaptic itself. If you do then try redownloading all the repo data. apt-get update
-
I dont believe it does use YUM. From the PC Linux OS Site. Try as super user command line: apt-get install wine
-
You should have Synaptic installed which would allow you to browse the packages available on the repos you have selected. Have you tried that? Synaptic may be called "Package Manager" or something similar. Compiling is the last step really lol I am not sure on PCLinuxOS but for most you install a package called "Build-Essential" which includes all the compiler software then download all the dependencies for Wine (which will be listed in the source code for the project) then type "make" (usually )

Does the user have permissions locally on the folder as well? As far as i understand a user has to have local rights as well as share rights on the folder. (I might be getting my wires crossed here though!!)
-
Its packages are rpm so I would suspect suse. According to the site its based on Mandriva. Have you tried compiling? Always fun!!

Movie maker doesn't support HD i dont think so that could be something to do with the problems with the HD camera. So far had no problems installing the 3ivX codec but i've only got it on my machine atm as I'm testing it.
-
NOTE: This is MPEG4 AVI. The AVI is just the container format, without the XVid codec (on the flipcam) the videos will not work.
