  1. Installing and configuring MRBS Could try that
  2. lol I like the site
  3. I believe NOVA has some issues with PCL6 drivers from printers. Try a PCL 5e driver for the same printer and see if it still works. We had a similar issue but becuase the default printer was PCL6 it caused the whole program to crash!

  6. Bah i cant read any of the articles damn filtering, too interesting for the interwebs here I'm guessing you can set up private games via direct connect like in COD4? I guess they are making a decent ranking system etc might be a good plan.

    Very slow PC

Thats weird, have you formatted it completely and reloaded Windows, or did you mean you just reload it with stuff? If all else fails grab an ubuntu CD and fire up the desktop cube spin it around and then turn if off and place it in the cupboard until you have a bad day.
  8. Nov 26th At 12:56 GMT to be precise
  9. I think you have to turn on the search engine friendly urls in the global config
  10. Just to add to the Fronter wonderfulness (!?) I have just noticed that the Java download app actually displays all the drives available, including C even to a non privaledged user, I have just tested this by saving over an exe file, which I had previously downloaded, with a video. I have just logged back on as an admin and the file has been replaced by a video!! O dear this is not good!
  11. Im from the somerset as well, I wasn't awake that pupils would be using the Fronter webpart in the Sharepoint site? This still doesn't deal with the point that then the kids will have to remember the SLP (Sharepoint) password as well therefore bringing the total to 4 user names and passwords. Currently the Fronter webpart has been down more than it has been up as well meaning that manual log in is essential at the moment.
  12. Kids wont be interested in a system which looks like the equivalent of web 0.0. I have to say I am concerned about the passwords, we already have issues with people remembering two passwords, and another on top with a completely different username is going to be password reset hell The biggest gripe I have with the system though is how damn slow it is, creating content is a really time consuming process and even after that the page you have made is plain.
  13. crossover cable? :s
  14. space is an issue here, especially with Flip cams and the like. a NAS is in order i thinks! 72gb is peanuts, I uploaded 3 GB of videos from english last week alone! 3 1TB in RAID 5 set up as a separate array I would suggest
  15. lol yeah the same, I find most pages of interest are these days
  16. I would try this out as well Microsoft Research Image Composite Editor (ICE)
  17. If you dont click on the file itself but click on the grey arrow you can select download and it will use the ActiveX downloader. A pain I know, but it is Fronter after all
  18. Is this to do with the Java applet? You need to install an ActiveX component to get it working. Downloads | Open Edit Save Location Installation Thats a link to the fronter download for the particular ActiveX control.
  19. If you have a DVI-D then there is no analogue signal for the VGA to use. It will be a DVI-I if its convertable
  20. I would love HD on my TV, tired of standard freeview, i wanna see the dust on tables Too bad Freesat only has 2 HD channels! Pretty pants would get sky but money be lacking
  21. SCUMMVM +Monkey Island 1+2 + Curse of Monkey Island Google Maps I have a phonecall recorder on there too, although it was just a trial, was v useful when a certain internet company i used to be with were saying one thing on the phone and one thing through the post! Typical communication breakdown there i feel!
  22. Getting rid of the damned security screws would be a great start for all the RM stuff, just got some of the new RM ones V3's i think and they weigh a ton! but they are a lot better than the originals. Havent had to do any maintenance on them yet, but I did laugh at the rolling feet, reminded me of a shopping trolley when I nearly pushed it off the desk!
  23. It seems you have to remove the entire back panel then remove the side panel which allows access to the DVD drive, you have to remove the screws and opull the cables out and replace. These things are a pain to do any maintenance to
  24. O dear, well at least its not the PSU as thats the first in last out component! What version RM One is it?

    BSOD on startup

Just a thought, if you put another laptops hard drive into your own laptop it is quite likely to BSOD as the disk controller is more than likely different. This doesn't mean the disk is dead, although in this case I would say its quite likely. I would agree that booting to a live CD is probably the best option here to save any files then use Seatools or something similar on the Ultimate Boot CD to test the HDD and see if it is physically damaged.
