    Uninstalling NOD32

    WOW! Cheers matey! With thanks!
  2. Hi all! We have been given a new antivirus to play with this year (Kaspersky), but before installing it, I need to rid our network of NOD32. The console has expired...and I heard that a tool was available to clean the workstations up of NOD32. Has anybody else here had any experience in this? Could you point me in the right direction?
  3. No...no criminal intent, just downright mischievous eh?
  4. Obviously, the drivers are not included on SP2 either. Try SP3. Or - did you get any floppy disks with the laptop? Older SATA drivers usually came on the these and had to be inserted when you pressed F6 during the windows install.
  5. It usually means that the harddrive is not IDE. It may be SATA...in which case you need an XP disk that has SP2 or higher on it.
  6. We used to be on a blacklist with NINAA! A loverly little box. Then I was ordered to move everyone to a whitelist once we had moved to the Cachepilot. We went from being 99.99% safe to 99.99% unsafe in one day. The banned website list grew rapidly until the box started to crash because of overload. Then I unloaded the list and told the teachers to manage their classrooms or don't use them. Now, when a member of staff asks me to block a website, I say no. If I block one games site, the students will find a 100 more the next day.
  7. I was asked an opinion, which I gave openly and honestly. I do not need to see your opinion of my opinion. Keep it in a PM if you must. However, in answer to your opinion, for me the devil is in the detail...and have yet to see a multi-threading PC operate faster than dual or quad processor. When I do, my opinion may change.
  8. Model 2 - Simply because of the graphics card (its not shared), and the dual-core processor.
  9. Go on...tell us if you dare! Bet ya daren't!
  10. Things have never been the same since Macromedia sold out to them.
  11. I use it for a helpdesk. Easy to setup. The only 'irritating' problem is the display of tickets. They are grouped - so any tickets that are unassigned are listed on one page, and assigned tickets on another. If you forget to keep switching, you won't see any new ones. Very irritating indeed. There should be an option to combine the sets of tickets since there is only me having to manage the network here. Or maybe there is and I have missed it. A suitable response to this would be to tell me off and show me where it is...
  12. I know Promethean boards come with two types of adapters...one serial, the other is USB. Try plugging in a USB cable into the board at the back.
  13. heh heh...love it!

    Print Drivers

In all these years, I have never quite grasped what the different drivers are for a printer. When you visit a website which offers the drivers, you can be presented by a few different types, but mainly Postscript and PCL. What are these driver types and what are their different uses?
  15. We've had it for over a year now...kids got bored with it pretty fast. So did staff. A gimmick.
