  1. Disagree with that, I listened to him (pretty much on repeat) as a child and its right that people want to pay their respects.
  2. Thats using a slightly err "modified" image so would not be for use in a school. Plus its so slow and couldn't be used to do anything useful and the fact it has no 3d or 2d acceleration support means its useless for graphics apps. I believe that apple have no interest in supporting Virtualisation of their OS at the moment probably due to the fact that I could see a lot of people bypassing the "No Activation" policy on their software!! Although it would be interesting to see where that leaves the company after that!
  3. Or get a prog to create a virtual CD to which you can write a virtual ISO and then convert the tracks back to MP3. Saves on CDsthen! Bit of a long winded method though! Does Daemon tools offer that?
  4. Songbird was one I remember for being iPod compatible. Not sure how far its got as I only used to it play tracks from someone elses iPod. iTunes has only one good thing, and that is the store. Which my awesome acoustic band is on .... /End Plug.
  5. Whats the reason for that? I thought Moodle was happier with an Apache webserver :s Beaten I = much to slow lol
  6. I have switched to using my phone (Touch HD) for an MP3 player as its always with me and doesn't require me to fill my pockets with other rubbish! Personally I can't stand iPods, with their annoying connectors to the fact that they are made by crApple.
  7. Dont speak badly of Harry Potter!!!!!!

    COD 6

Really looking forward to this! I love infinity wards CODMW. Was not a fan of the multiplayer of treyarch's though Whats the single player of COD5 like? Any good? I used to be addicted to modern warfare multiplayer, we had a tournament in my *old work for the whole company which was awesome!

    AHCI and XP

It will be restarting cus its blue screening during the boot. You can't usually change that setting after installing XP as it changes the controller driver needed from the OS. I don't know of any way around this, I had the problem back when I worked at PC world, in the end I left it on IDE emu becuase of it. Not sure if a BIOS upgrade may sort it? EDIT: Actually I believe it was a HP i had trouble with, :s

    wii quesitons

The reciever is the Wii all signals are sent to the wii. The sensor bar is actually only 2 infra red LEDs. The wii mote has a IR sensitive camera for picking up the 2 lights which is why sensor bar position is important. If you can press the buttons the Wii is recieving the signal. I would think it is possible that the sensor bar is not producing the neccesary light if it still doesn't work but obviously its difficult to tell without seeing it. would try to move the wiimote around to see if you get the cursor appearing sounds like it should work to me.
  12. Gotta love expenses. He obviously needs it for power emailing, and maybe someone installed Ubuntu and compiz so he could have the cube desktop for efficiency... Sounds like hes getting a new one at every release of Ubuntu too, see if he claims this Oct

    wii quesitons

can you use the D pad to navigate through? If the sensor bar is set for top of TV function atm then you will have to lower the Wiimote quite a lot further than you think to see the hand pointer on screen. Make sure the setting is correct on the options. It has wireless built in so just goto the options screen again and set the wireless config in there
  14. Mmmm, not sure. Might be worth a try though. Its only bout 1meg download
  15. Download photorec and try to find documents in the probably dead partition
  16. You can add a flash player Trust file to the local machines so that they trust the swf files. You dont need a reg change. Create a file called .cfg in: c:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashPlayerTrust EDIT: No spaces in the above path not sure why it adds them on my screen :s! Edit the cfg file with notepad and add the path to the locally installed flash files and you will have no more problems!

    error code is 7

How far into the setup does it get? Is it possible you have a damaged CD?

There is an article here about forcing a HAL DLL to be loaded. How to force a Hardware Abstraction Layer during an upgrade or an installation of Windows XP I have also sometimes put this down to a hard drive controller. Try changing the IDE or SATA type in the BIOS some newer boards are a bit funny with the old XP Cds.

    Charging FlipCams!

Nope they don't they are 15 quids extra and I havent seen them in any shops I think 1.8M extension leads are a bit extreme lol. But I guess its not so bad if it comes down to that!
  21. That RM Asus minibook is an Asus EeePC. It runs XP Home so Pro would be no problem! Although it is a celeron and they are pants! Obviously doesn't come witha pro licence though so you would have to upgrade. The 10.1inch EEE PC 1000HE looks like a good contender if your budget can stretch? Better processor etc 9hr battery life too
  22. Has anyone got any ideas on charging these things! We have 16 and are now trying to come up with an idea of how to charge them all so they will be ready for lessons! Currently I have the idea that we should use a powered USB hub although I'm not sure if they will fit next to eachother being slightly wider than normal USB devices. D-Link DUB-H7 USB2.0 7 Port Hub - Ebuyer Seems to be thebest option so far. Anyone come across this problem and like to share an alternative solution?
  23. lol removing a broken PSU is so much harder than a good one though........
  24. PC World charge £30 for software reinstall (including windows install) £30 per hardware install £70 fixed price repair £30 for backup services £15 for memory upgrade and test Per hours never worked for me, I usually just say £30 quid for most things. Although never done anything but private individuals and not for a long time!
  25. !!! That sucks I was always under the impression they were still cheaper!! Bring on BIO fuels or something! My weekly fuel bill has already gone up nearly 8 quid Tis a lot when you don't earn much
