  1. We have a stable CC3 network. Seems the core is quite stable, we have had few probs. The corrupt profile thing is very common it seems here but thats about it. Yeah logons on older machines is a problem on some of our old ones we were looking at 30 mins or so before a usable windows was there but thats the extreme of it. The networks never seem to be that exciting though, small storage servers and most of the products here are RM as once your in they only support their own range of products :s But saying that our network (touch wood) is very stable

  6. The 48xx series has been awesome, people are complaining that the ATI drivers are baggy but I really havent noticed this at all!! I just enjoy playing Crysis at higher than 320 x 240
  7. I don't know if any of you do this, but our SLT are trying to share a global calendar showing their whereabouts ie. if they are available and where they are. The problem we are having is they want everyone to be able to see this calendar but not edit it. The SLT and a few select others can edit the calendars only. This would not be a problem if everyone used the full outlook. Unfortunately most people use the web outlook and sharing mailboxes to see the shared calendar is not an option in this. Another idea is to use SIMS, has anyone tried this / know if it is possible?

  9. I have a 2.5Ghz celeron with 256 RAM, just managed to coax an extra 1GB RAM here lol not toooooo bad with the new RAM. Oh and a 15 inch screen. If you get permission for a calculator for a new machine you will be beating me!
  10. Looks like the imaging unit has past its counter on the Konica Minolta Magicolor 7450... Has anyone experienced these lovely resetting devices for the image units? I feel that the well over £200 price mark for a new imaging unit is a bit steep when we were noticing no print quality defects just before it decided to go! Plus this is the first one that has gone and there are 4 in the printer, one for each color! O dear Anyone got any cheaper options (or cheaper I-Units avail ) Phew
  11. How do you authenticate and enrol in courses? I have been looking at the CSV route as I don't think we would be installing it on a local server . Just wondering what other peoples experiences have been and what you have settled on for adequate for your needs.

    NO INPUT SIGNAL

Check for faulty PSU, fluctuating voltages cause a lot of the "weird" problems like that.
  15. Im guessing you have run the php -m command (i guess thats where the cli is crashing?)
  16. This is from the Moodle Docs pages on LDAP setup with Windows.
  17. Just got my HTC Touch HD back ( the first one I had came with a green screen kinda reminded me of my first computer lol) have to say its the best phone ive used, responsive and browser is great for the internet and at last a usable MSN on a phone. Touch screen is accurate and bright and comes complete with USB cable, carry sock (i guess thats what i would call it!) and spare stylus in the box.
  18. Definition of the error message is: My brain hasn't worked today!
  19. Its not a problem with permissions on the IIS folder is it? Im not sure what the permissions need to be on IIS but I use www-data or "nobody" on apache / ubuntu then enable read/write access as required on it.
  20. The clients are XP, a lot of "RM Ones" running celeron 1.7's /w 256MB RAM got another 1GB ram to put in them over the hols though so should make a big difference to performance for logon we don't have any Vista stations yet and probably won't be getting any. (Windows 7 looks like its worth waiting for) Thanks for the replies so far.
  21. From Vistas, it now supports mutilple tuners and I belive analogue and digital tuners. Plus it supports blu ray out the box and other HD formats.
  22. Ive tried the other media centres and I have to say that the Windows 7 one with added My Movies plugin is my favourite. So easy to use and looks good!
  23. Ive been browsing for that info for a while, can only really find people giving it grief!!
  24. We are evaluating the possibility of moving from CC3 to CC4 at the moment. Is there a performance hit with CC4 compared to CC3 at the workstations? Some of the pcs here are pretty slow already and obviously the leaner the software the better!
