yeah sure, its a bit of a mess atm to be honest so disregard the slightly haphazard VBA coding!! The queries in question were the "CartridgesRequired" one which obviously shows the cartridges the printers need and "StockLevels" which show the levels of cartridges in stock. PM me if your confused about my weird logic Printer.zip

I have created a database for cartridge stock at my school, (its a hot topic here at the moment with a lot of money being spent on printing) but I am having a few issues with Access queries. I have currently got a query which shows the cartridges in stock and how many eg Cartridge Stock --------- ------ 339 7 344 5 Etc I also have a table which shows the required cartridges (some of which wont show up on the stock list becuase the query only counts items in stock). Is there a way of combining the tables to show 0 stock on some cartridges without using VBA? Apologies if its not clear :s

I had issues with Norton Internet Security when sharing like that, had to use the removal tool on a PC as the firewall sometimes seems to persist even after uninstallation! Had a lot of experience of that as I used to work at PC World shame on me! You can also try Go->Connect to server then type smb:\\Computername\Share you can also specify a UN and pass if it doesn't work. Have you got file sharing working from PC to PC yet?

I am interested to know what other schools policy is regarding student emails. At present all our students use RM Easymail plus and they are restricted to sending and receiving emails to and from our domain only. Without this restriction we found we were getting inundated on the Manager account, with filtered emails including spam, misspellings etc. We are now considering opening up the system so that at least the Year 10 and 11's can email anywhere. Do other schools check all filtered emails and allow this sort of access? Also do you allow staff to access their personal email accounts in school such as Yahoo and Hotmail?

we currently record on excel and have paper slips for problems. Not ideal, I would like to switch to osTicket:: Open Source Support Ticket System tested at home and it seems like a pretty simple package which is always good!! -
I cleared the APT cache after I found out about the 170kb I had left on the drive and it freed up 200m out of the 600mb partition of the union FS writeable partition. There are a lot of posts about the 901 on the eeePC wiki site re updating and its badly done repos, they include 2 files which don't seem to exist, you get one 404 error and one size mismatch when updating! Not great really :S Thanks for your advice tho always appriciate the advice everyone gives on here

Yeah totally agree about moodle, I did a test set up for my school on my homepage and it was so much easier to create a good looking site which is easy to navigate. I find myself thinking about where to go with fronter because the interface doesn't seem quite right and you are stuck with how fronter is.

We are using fronter here, its clunky and ugly imho. Has a lot of features apparently, but i just cant get over the fact that it looks horrible!

I just signed up for this looks good to me, downloaded a couple of progs, mainly the VS2008 is the one that interests me. Time to make some rubbish software I think the licences are single install single activation, I emailed re this and they confirmed that it could only be installed on one PC at a time.

Yeah already got all that in, can update through apt-get but it runs out of disk space during the update!!! Added the oIdentd daemon through the debian etch repo and that works ok. Also updating the 901 through apt-get disables the CTRL-ALT-T shortcut from the pc cus it changes the IceWM config files in the local profile! Seems like Asus were really not thinking when they designed the 901 as it has been a bit of a let down for anything but light personal use.

We have got one EEE PC 901, which is the most PITA one possible! Size of the disk means that you cant do a full upgrade becuase there isn't enough room on the drive and the add remove software tool keeps saying download failed!!! Pretty annoying for a device which was so good in its first release.

lol with all the pinning and repo adding involved in getting the ident client sorted setting this one up took a while!! And because of its silly UnionFS system I'm a little unsure of how to back up the user settings I have created! Bit of a pain, I would personally want to install ubuntu but i dont think that will go down well!!

So has anyone had any success with these? I have managed to install an ident client to it and secure firefox somewhat with Public Fox, but has anyone been using these in schools so far and had any success/issues yet? From what I can see the Xandros OS is very insecure basically needing someone to press CRTL-ALT-T to access the terminal and typing sudo bash gives them full admin access to the unit with no password required! Luckily the test one we have currently is only planned to be used to browse the net etc not access any shares so that side isn't so much worry.

Yeah the presentable part is a def no go for me, it looks horrible compared to some other ones ive seen. I think people have been taking in by its integration with SIMS which sounds great but now we have 1 billion rooms all called 7SCI/DS1 or similar which is completely useless unless a teacher wants to create a new room for each lesson group! So apart from it looking slightly pants and the user interface being naff and the integration etc its great

The admin side doesn't seem very user friendly at all, things arent always where I expected them to be in a logical GUI type way. We havent really started using it yet, finding it difficult to get enthusiasm from people about it :s

I have to admit I havent used that Addon, ive been using the addons on the joomla extensions directory on the main site as it has loads of picture gallerys to use. I used Morfeo Show i think it was pretty easy to use and had its own upload feature. If you have no luck I would suggest trying that one.

You are looking at the article layout there , its in the Menu editor, (for whatever menu is it you want to appear) at the lower part of the editor it will allow you to select which pages the menu appears for.

This will be to do with the menu settings, if you goto the menu editor and look at the menu in question, in the lower half of the settings it should show you which pages your menu should appear on. You can set it to entire site if you want all the pages to have the same menus. This is really useful for creating specific pages which have specific widgets down the side.

Oops clicked thanks by accident!! Enjoy the thanks Anyhow on joomla are you looking at the news page or the front page? To post in the News section you have to select News as the section or catagory when you edit or add the article, they will usually go into a Misc catagory normally. As for if it is the front page, you have to select the Shwo on front page radio button to get it to appear there. Some of the features of joomla arent instantly obvious but I used it for my test site Cursing Caroline and its proved to be so useful for quick updates etc.

yeah tried the compatability modes, there is IE compatability, IE7 and IE8 mode now, and all of them displayed my gradiented background through the centre table column in Moodle! Added an IE exception rule to it and it works now. I used Google Chrome for a bit, has anyone else tried that?

Yeah the recovery program is really good, had a lot of use out of it. I have to say that saying that vista comes with a repair tool should not be considered a bad thing!!! It mostly just runs chkdsk which tbh fixes most of the problems I've ever experienced with vista, other than people installing Spyware and viruses I used to work in PC world so ive seen the worst of the virus and spyware

It had a few things like accelerators which were mildly useful, tbh I still used firefox on W7 as its quicker. Still had to make a load of fixes to my site for IE8 cus the formatting was way off. It had some interesting developer tools in the beta not sure if they will be in the final version but it was like a lesser version of firebug.
