Hello, our school is after some sort of video converter, quite happy to pay, it's because we have various camera's that record in various file types and we are in the process of making a leavers DVD.

Any good recommendations on one that will convert from anything to anything pretty much?

Thanks.

What are you making the movie in? Adobe Premiere Pro will ingest most formats natively without any conversion, just make sure you have the settings for your movie set right before you drag in your first reel otherwise I will sometimes use the first clips format/timecode for the movie.

Apart from that Adobe Media Encoder will convert most formats.

You could have a script check a shared folder on a regular basis, run any new files it finds through FFmpeg and place the newly-converted file in a different folder ready for use.

I use Format Factory where I need to but generally for quick and easyt videos I use Serif Movieplus x5 which accepts every format i've needed to throw at it so far...
