  1. Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I wonder if @bicky you found a solution? or anyone else? Same situation, but need to log the same account into multiple PCs. Any simple script for a novice?
  2. I've come to learn that you just don't get the longevity you'd expect with smart projectors.
  3. thank you, I will be checking firmwares to boards this summer so I'm sure this will help
  4. with clickview and planetstream, once recordings are made can you also access/download the original uncompressed broadcast stream recording?
  5. the control cable wont work. I'd use Epson eb-430 because you are bound to need the quick corners correction.
  6. considering so many users will be holding on to their last non-premium version they could at least make the full package for it.
  7. Yes I can second that. When you first pick up the pen and start writing there is a slight delay as it starts up the service or something, but then after that it's fine. People tend to not realise it's just the initialisation.
  8. Well, especially when it comes to wasting money I go with the saying if it ain't broke don't fix it. When we're told there no cash for more important things, I find it strange that there is suddenly cash for something unnecessary. Thanks madurham, I've read many comments here complaining about the system and people asking about alternatives.
  9. the system is being considered when there is already a free system in place. It seems the price is not warrented for where we're at currently.
  10. New issue, pen tray related. I have a 680 board where if the pen isn't seated in the tray in a most precise position, it acts as if the pen is picked up. The pen is fully in the compartment, but if it's slightly to the left the indicator light comes on as if it's picked up. Very frustrating because then it interacts with the PC. The sensor is clean, and there is no dust. Anyone else had this?
  11. this is a mess. Oh well, Smart can prepare to lose customers. Time to rethink my summer upgrade plans.
  12. So I wonder about future devices. They'll probably make them not fully compatible with 11.4 on purpose.
  13. well notebook will only work to 100% compatibility on a smart device, which is why for now I'm sold on the Smart E70 screens. Yes they're more expensive, but it will work how you expect it to work. I hear there is a limited discount period at the moment.
  14. BenQ is cheaper, but the worst. I haven't seen their new model in action, but after all the trouble I've had with previous screens I won't be going down that route again. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/119444-usb-problems-benq-touchscreen-display-tl550.html
  15. license changes?
  16. who was the service centre please?
  17. I've now got a UF55 unit with image that's gone completely black and white - lost all colour. It's not the cables as the usual blue smart logo menu is now grey. Would this be the old irreparable chip situation?
  18. Would the old control panel still be compatible? When you say correct position do you mean central? or height away from board too?
  19. Yes, we've bypassed the faceplate too. The dodgy picture via HDMI must have been due to the PC graphics card, once I downgraded to 720p resolution it was fine.
  20. @Zourous what you suggested works. Thanks again for that. There are visual artefacts that no one but me would notice, but I think it's the PC refresh rate and something to do with using dvi to hdmi causing that - will tweak when I get a chance. Do you use the bundled Smart Notebook? I still don't know if the smart software is supposed to see the screen as a compatible device as it's connection wizard can't detect it. Are you supposed to just ignore that? I can't seem to mimic the act of picking up a smartboard pen and annotating anything on screen the way you would with a smartboard - either you can't or I'm missing some setting.
  21. free seasoning; the filth from your desk.
  22. Had the same here: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/124154-smart-uf55-pixel-errors.html My replacement solution was this: RA Smart Unifi 55/65 Retro Fit Projector Mount Kit [RA4.3-Unifi-55/65] : RA Technology, Projector mounts and cages As described: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/av-multimedia-related/58867-uf-55-projector-flickering-problem-2.html#post1083041 ...of course I've learned the hard way now to get a projector with the correct lens alignment in future.
  23. Thanks. Luckily a HDMI cable was installed. Will need a dvi to hdmi adaptor though due to no hdmi on the PC. I hear BenQ's new touchscreen range is out next month, apparently with improvements to the connectivity and screen glare. The s*** speakers could be better too. They'd be great screens if they actually worked. Don't know if I can trust them again at this stage though.
  24. Do you have a link to that Sanburg product? We have a screen with issues, however a cable length of 10 to 15m is needed.
  25. Don't know if anyone else tried the universal mount adaptor for swapping out a smart UF45 or 55 for a third party short throw projector, but I have and here is my feedback. I was able to utilise the existing smart IEC power cable, and even the VGA, and just cut off the unnecessary cables that are moulded in. Of course you can't use the smart ECP, but I had some pixies spare to install. Otherwise existing cables might be tight, it would be easy enough to extend or replace the cables if you need to. I was recommended the NEC M260XS as a swap unit for both UF45 and UF55. Though it was straight forward for the UF45, this model was far from suitable as a replacement for the UF55, simply because of the lens position not being central, therefore trying to centre the projection to the board is extremely problematic due to the weight distribution. Every time you need to make a position adjustment, the whole thing pretty much needs removing and dismantling to try again in a trial and error fashion. After hours of fiddling I got it in a sorta OK position. All this despite RA advertising the mount as being suitable for projector or any lens alignment. Sure it has adjustments to support this in theory, but in practice it's just not feasible. That said, the NEC M260XS is an excellent projector in itself and a massive improvement upon the original Smart units. Bottom line, if doing this for the UF55, use a projector with a central lens.
