This sadly seems to happen with SWGfL far too often.

Are there other options we could look at I wonder?

Internet from swgfl is all over the place for us too. We've logged a call. They're having issues at their end.

This was happening yesterday as well, pings to county and google show no interuptions the data just doesn't go.

Text I just received from SWGFL:-

"The intermittent periods of connectivity are a result of unexpected behaviour within the core network. We continue to investigate with the highest priority"

spoken to swgfl this morning they have a firewall 'issue' for which they have cisco engineers on site. The best they could offer me by way of a timeline for resolution was that it "should be all resolved by the close of business today"

Well. They said that last night to the NM. But they seem to be very slow or not seem to be doing anything about. Its been flicky for a while if i recall.

Come on guys....we all work in IT Support do we not! And we all know what it's like to have end-users on ya back in the midst of a major problem....right!! Give SWGFL a break! It will be fixed when it is fixed (something we'd all like to say to those bugging us during downtime!).

Chill the F out guys!!

Gave you a TY for this mate. However, this particular service has dumped on many of us far too often and we are the folk in the middle fielding the 'my easymail, my internet' isn't working calls. I'm usually at the top of the tree when it comes to supporting the boys and girls at SWGfL as they have given me heaps of support over the years but on this occasion it's just one failure too many.

Well....ya can just tell them where the problem lies, and that it's out of your hands, and you'll inform them when it's fixed! Then they can put their overpaid-so called teaching skills into action, get creative, and TEACH!....nuff said!

....or just get on with lunch!

When you're paying for a service, no, its not the same I'm afraid, especially when you have hundreds of users all demanding an explanation and remedy immediately. At least there, they'll only have the network managers calling up asking for info...

i'm not stressing it, i just set my phone as a hotspot and connect my laptop to it... the teachers who have an ofsted tomorrow/thursday are not so chilled, and are leting me know all about it.

thats alright if you got unlimited data or a strong signal. To be fair i get on with other jobs and stuff that dont need the internet. (although someone stressing above me)

Fine! Pull the plug on SWGFL then, and go manage your own firewalls, filtering, proxy's, email, ISP etc... et al.....blah! Then see if your end-users are any less p****d when there's downtime!........just saying!

I charge some of my data back to the school for exactly these circumstances, we have an arangement where they pay a proportion of my phone bill as standard (£10 a month of my £30 a month contract) unless we have an outage, where i track my usage and then bill them for it. So far it's worked well.

Thats not bad then. :)

Woah! - DoS attack

System Status Information Service Status

>>Update: 15:38

Our engineering teams have identified the cause as an external denial of service attack and are carrying out actions that mitigate the risk of further interruptions in service.

The security and integrity of the network has remained unaffected throughout.<<

Own up, who's upset who?
