Agree Windows Phone is very slick but tends to get slated by imho people who have yet to experience it, 2 years on it still feels fresh. I think Surface has a great deal going for it, although I think the Windows 8 Pro version could be the better options for schools as it will have access to the huge range of x86 software. I totally see where you are coming from, but I would have thought seeing you can choose which machines to deploy to after the initial deployment the ability to choose when you first deploy cannot be too difficult to include without a huge amount of effort. I'm sure many would find this useful.

SWGFL response to use was the following:-Does your Wireless AP have the ability to specify the upstream proxy? If so please try setting the proxy.swgfl.org.uk proxy from there & retesting. that would be a no, does anyone know what ports are required as if others suggest this works via SWGFL proxies I wondered if our Cisco hardware firewall sat between our network and the SWGFL router may be the issue?

Thats a possiblilty I guess, ideally though we would like PC functionality. Someone must being doing a similar thing in other schools and have discovered a clever utility or other method?

The app was created for Cornwall Learning so it will be branded with their details, maybe if you were to contact them there may be the possibility of creating a more generic version that could be tailored for schools in other authorities or modified to allow different tasks?

We have a class set of iPod touch devices and a Parasync and wondered if there is any software PC or Mac that would allow video footage to be downloaded from each Ipod to a unique folder after a class has been using them to film. At the moment we have to do this manually device by device which is a real pain. Any suggestions would be welcomed.
