My missus bought me 6 bottles of Tactical Nuclear Penguin from Brewdog for my last birthday - I drank them a few weeks back in one go and was totally wrecked - they're supposed to be the world's strongest at 32% strength. I don't remember much of the two days afterwards.

Isn't that stuff £30 odd quid a bottle?!!

£35 I think. It was very nice. I was saving them for a special occasion but then had a carp week and needed to blank it all out.

Was on hobgoblin on wednesday (sister in law bought me a couple of bottles to have with dinner, as brother-in-law was on the stella (ick)). Will be Tim Taylor's tonight though I think.

Is it brewed from elephant poo? It certainly tastes like it.

Agreed, the quality of the glass belied the quality of the drink. Though drunkenly dropping it at the feet of the waiter did look like a comment on the beer.

32% :-/ how are you still alive after 6?!?! Did you have liver / kidney problems before, if not you do now!

degree assignment due next monday, so been up late most nights studying before completing it this weekend.

That, plus hayfever plus some damned flu-like bug i picked up a couple weeks ago that is still lingering, means I wake up every morning feeling like i've had a dozen carlsberg the night before, despite the fact i've had nothing stronger than a can of pepsi max or a glass of blackcurrant squash!

I can normally drink carlsberg if I have to, but myself I prefer german lagers. The Reinheitsgebot (and yes I really do know that word!) means you get the nice hoppy drink with none of the junk.

My old local had Warsteiner on tap (I miss it, but parents still living there, so I pop down there occasionally), lovely stuff, on the strong side for lager, but it's easier on the system (just not so light on the head the next morning if you have a few!)

I think my liver resembles a house brick. That's 10 years of drinking Jack Daniels for you :-/

I did have the hangover from hell for two days afterwards.

That was 6 over the course of an evening and in to the wee hours - apparently my FaceBork IM posts became quite bizarre after the fourth bottle - turned into a bit of a rant about all sorts of jubberish. I think I fell asleep for a time and woke up with the imprint of the keyboard on my forehead....

I sat down last night with an Absolut Raspberry Vodka, ice and lemonade, I feel a few coming on tonight as well! I can't drink beer/lager - unfortunately!

I'll drink anything if its going, but if I have a choice then Becks, Krombacher or any german/czech lagers bottled. If im down the pub then generaly marstons smooth from my local, or any of the guest ales. Strong drink of choice is a single malt or nice brandy for 1 or 2, but if im out on the town then vodka + mixer all the way (supplemented with sambuca/tequila shots and Jager bombs - love em :D)

Oh, and gin and tonics for a summer afternoon or 'warm up' before going out.

Just a few pints of London Pride for me last night (not my favourite, but the best available in the local).

Tonight I'll be sampling Single Malt Whiskey from my recent hols to Scotland! I have Ben Nevis 10 yr old, Glenfiddich 12 year old and Tomatin 10 year old. Very nice stuff!! :)

The best single malt - Bowmore. Can't beat it! Mmmmmmmmmmmm

Not tried that one. Is it Peaty? I prefer the smoother ones as a rule, but not always! I'll give it a shot - have you tried Oban? That's pretty good too. :)

Very! But then, that's how I like them :)

Oban - I have tried it; it's nice, but given a choice...

Now, Gin Martini, mixed properly - that's another good one. STOP IT ALL OF YOU! Or I shall go home at lunch, and not be coming back in a straight line :D

I live on site at my place, an arrangement with a whole host of disadvantages. But one of the few advantages is that I can pop home for lunch. So yeah, the whiskey sampling may start early here too!!!! :D
