So, tomorrow is the day we all love .. what do you all have planned?

So, tomorrow is April Fools Day, the Technical Support's chance to get their own back on the lowly users ..

My question is, what have you all got planned (if anything).

At one of my schools, it's also the head teachers last day .. so I think a simple screen rotation first off, but from there .. who knows .. maybe have the CD tray auto eject randomly during the day?

My head would be for the chop if I did any 'Fools-based pranks here, so aside from enjoying the relaxed atmosphere of a training day and running a SIMS/FMS upgrade in the afternoon, it'll be a ordinary, dull, paperwork-based day I reckon.

I'm liking the website upside down idea though! hmmm .. :)

Has anyone got that box where its a yes and no box with the text saying somthing like. Do you want a payrise and the yes moves when you hover over it so you have to click the no !!

I suspect one of the senior staff will get their default web site changed to the naughty page.

EDIT: An the PFY will get a special GPO so where ever he goes his wallpaper will show delightful knitwear.

Optical Mouse Confusion This is an update of the old mouse-ball-removal trick: A small piece of tape over the laser sensor on an optical mouse will cause it to go haywire. Just color the nonstick side of the tape with a Sharpie and then tape it over the lens.

A prank would cause me far too much extra work... so ill be booooring and have a normal day :p

Was going to do some internet stunt - along the lines of "CIA have turned internet off for annual maintenance" - but I haven't got around to mocking anything up and to be honest I started to think It'd cause too meny phone calls.

I've settled for changing the READY message on a selection of HP printers askint the user to REPLACE WHITE TONER. Meh, it'd do.

I've got an an 'on script' and 'off script' set up so I can put it back to normal and visit the printer asking if they are trying to wind me up :D

I'll find out tomorrow :D I have 1x2600 on the list. Unfortunately I can't exactly test it before hand. I tested on a LJ5100.

we have a 2600 in our office, would you like to share this script of yours? :p

Theres an old Perl script floating around t'net. Someone had compiled into an exe with a couple of simple command line parameters (IP and Display Message). I've zipped the exe I found and my on/off .bat files.
