Digi Blue.

has to use the same USB port every time otherwise it has to be reinstalled (manually) then you have to go round each pc with the camera because the software doesn't hold the drivers...

Plus - theres more than one version of the cameras, which need different copies of the software to run!

Then again - I've never come across an education digital camera thats actually any good

I think i actually hear my hairs greying whenever someone from the Music department calls, but to be fair thats as much hardware as software. Is all music software written by monkeys, and all hardware created from recycled Biro's?

Does anyone remember Granada Software...

Oh god yeah, [ still on our pre prep PCs ] - had one thing which would only work if you used it as an Admin to start with, then logged on as a normal user and it would finally work......

Never worked out what file or reg entry was the cause - even had filemon and regmon running and went through a heap of data to locate what the hell was going on.....

Granada Colours, Database, Spreadsheet, Writer and Toolkit - bleeding terrible.

We still have that in our It suite and junior laptops. It was awful, but with all the patches its not too bad.

SymWriter

Crashes when it feels like it, removes options when it feels like it, has to go off to the internet to register itself - oh and if I have to re-image a machine I have to tell them (as they count the registrations, not the active registrations).

And when the first version was delivered it didn't know about proxy settings and installed a lovely piece of Malware to control the licensing.

Oh, and it borks there previous version of the software as well

Version 3 of the software isn't too bad, signed drivers and the ability to redirect the save folders.

Primary Target Tracker and EYFS Tracker.

Thank God that we are moving away from these soon, we are phasing in Classroom Monitor which is 100% better that this rubbish with its clueless support as well. :D

Sparkeh, because of you, I didn't have that headache. :)

Glad my torment meant that I could spare someone else. :)

I have a new one to add: Log-It box from TTS.

Basically its a data logger with some software to install on a machine. The advert says "Share your data across the network!"

Great I think as I begin to install it. Oh..to access the network settings you need a password and I am instructed to call my reseller. Odd but ok I'll get in contact. Oh..the person I am speaking to has no idea about that so she will pass it on to the developers...oh they have no idea about that either. :mad::mad:

What an earth is the logic behind making you phone up for a password just to save data on the network anyway!

Its a tough one as the competition is so intense but I'd have to name my all time top 3 as

Crazytalk (And I haven't even got round to rolling it out yet- I reckon in another couple of weeks I'll have managed to get the first copy registered!)

Report Assist (Bad bad software from both technical/users/parents point of view :( )

BlackCat SuperTools (The worst of education software bundles :( - a triumph of marketing over ability :( )

regards

Simon
