I did this morning.. I have two (work and personal), so I HAD to have the e-mail sound different on the work one as it's the emergency alert system..

 

Used Blackrain on the PC, as the Mac version didn't work for me.

Yes, have had mine JB'd since day 1 (iPhone 2G, and now 3G).

 

I used QuickPWN on the Mac and always have done, never had a problem with it either.

Yep used blackrain, very easy.

 

I do it to use LockInfo, very useful app which display all your calendar entries, emails, texts on your lock screen.

I could possibly add that I don't actually use many jailbroken applications from Cydia etc, but use it mainly for the unlock (for which I currently use ultrasn0w).

 

The only JB apps I do use:

 

iBlacklist - not so much for blocking, but for filtering calls/SMS from work or home at certain times.

 

SBSettings - quick access to certain things

 

And then a few different SBSettings add-ons to aid functionality.

Lockinfo was the reason I did mine as well, SBSettings is great as well.

 

The cracked Apps are a bonus, not the reason, for Jailbreaking.

Yup. iPhone 3GS 32Gb (3.1.2) with blackra1n. I can't stand a stock iPhone. As I always say, Jailbreaking allows you to unleash the beast that Apple have kept locked up.

What do you wanna know? For me, it's the vast majority of homebrew apps available on Cydia that enable those little features that really should be enabled by default.

Is SSH turned installed by default or do you have to install it yourself?

Benifits: Pay nothing for apps that cost £££. Able to do a lot more with your phone.

Disadvantages: When I find one I will let you know!

Mine was fine. Just to make sure i am 100% PwnageTool installs SSH and enables it by default.

 

I am currently in Australia have no access to WIFI or 3G. Would you know a way on how to change the SSH password under these conditions? As far as i am aware you need to download mobile terminal and do it in there.

 

I use mac as my OS is there a way to do it down the USB cable?
