Group Policy Preference Extensions. Allows you to do that and lots more. If you are using 2k3 you will have to setup the GPO from a Win7 machine but thats the only limitation of it. Or you can make members of an OU automatically join a Security Group using AD and then use isMember in your script to map the drive.

IMO CC4 can be a useful tool once it is established. Getting there can take a while though.

True, in the interim service there is usually no SLA. As it is usally old kit that the MS provider cant really be held responsible for. When the new gear is formally accepted the SLAs will kick in.

Nope, not in this case, the SLA is from first report to fix. The contract between the LEA and the MS provider will involve cash fines if SLAs are missed. It is up to the MS provider to ensure that each site has enough people to cover any 15 minute calls.

It works the same way as usual. The only difference is that you can drag cracked apps into iTunes and they will work on your phone. If you need to restore you just reset (wipe), update and then restore from backup all in iTunes. Just make sure you have everything set to backup and you will be fine. Make sure that you get the correct firmware. It is not always the same version as you are currently on e.g. 3.0.1 crack was actually still 3.0.0 cracked firmware etc. As I said in prev post. I always find it funny that the people who are so 'knowledgeable' about BSF, TUPE and RM are never the ones who have been through it. The negative posts are always rumours or cases of “my mate’s older brother’s mate’s cousin works in X project, and he says all the staff are being laid off” The reason you don’t hear from a lot of people post-BSF is because the majority of people see it as the great opportunity that it is and can’t be arsed with the hundreds of moaning posts on the BSF Forum.

Do you use Activ Inspire at all? As far as I am aware Activ Studio was withdrawn a few months back and replaced with Activ Inspire. That might be worth a try?

We also have this issue on our CC4 network. So far no permissions alterations have fixed the problem. We have Activ Inspire insead of Studio, but assuming its the same issue we have found that updating to the latest release fixes the problem. It is just getting a package for the update that is the problem now

You need to find or create an MSI file for the software you are trying to install. Then google GPO software installation.

This is most likely caused by elevation in Vista. In Vista even administrator users run as normal users. Then when an admin task is required the user gets elevated to admin rights through UAC. Check the Local Security Policies > Do No Prompt for Elevation is set to disabled (I think).

In your backup policy you can create a template rule that says "When job x finishes run job Y" Create a backup-to-disk folder on the second server and create Job Y which duplicates the data on your first server. This data was created by Job X.
