Hightower Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I unplugged everything last night and it still failed (apart from my wireless keyboard device). Will try a BIOS update.... Will post back tonight!
Hightower Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I've downloaded BIOS AO7 - I think I'm only currently on AO3 at home! Maybe this is the cause. I've created a Bootable Bart PE XP disc - will this allow me to run the .exe and upgrade the BIOS? I don't want to have to reinstall XP just to upgrade the BIOS!
AndySimmo Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 I get it for freeeeeeeeeeee. from the MSDNAA from my university (I am on placement)
CHR1S Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 For those of you still waiting for serials or download links, I rang them earlier and the system they use to generate the emails etc is pants and seems to be randomly not generating serials and download links for people. You have to ring up and get a support ticket going.
rad Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 God this is pants. Downloaded it yesterday overnight, got in this morning and burnt to disk, wont boot, tried to boot off usb, wont boot and i havent had the email for the license either. Great! having one of those days/weeks/terms grrrr
patty04 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 Tried installing windows 7 on my macbook bootcamp in my lunch time, but it didnt work. it only got to about 50% of copying files then it gave up and gave an error code. I'm gonna download it when i get home then try again.

patty04 Posted October 23, 2009 Posted October 23, 2009 i thought snow leopard allows windows 7 to work with the mac.

rad Posted October 24, 2009 Posted October 24, 2009 .SCH.UK NOT WORKING FOR ME......... HOW others done it???? Worked fine for me using a .sch.uk and I am in the same borough as you. I have installed Win 7 but managed to skip past when it asked for the license code. Hope it stays that way, any way ofchecking if the version is registered etc?
patty04 Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 Worked fine for me after i made the files into a iso and burned it. i done a clean install then activated it when i got to the desktop and it worked. i didnt have to do an upgrade.
SpuffMonkey Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I couldn't download from digitalriver on Thursday - presumably because of the excessive demand - I dropped them an email saying I was a bit disappointed and they've refunded the entire cost of the order - BONUS!
lew_bob Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 I am having a nightmere getting this thing, each time I try to create the expanded directory i get an error at some point along the way. Is there any chance anyone would like to send me the files on disc or an iso of the win7 pro 64bit. Ive tried at home and now here whilst Ive been busy around the school left the file downloading and it didnt work then tried again and it still says theres an error right at the end. Somthing about not having permission to write to that folder??? Its my c:\ root btw so all should be fine. Any ideas or have I missed somthing really really stupid?

Have you downloaded and trying to run this on a 32bit OS?, i had the same problem. i just made an iso out of the extracted files using the instructions Theblacksheep gave us on page 6 of this post.
lew_bob Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 yes, but the error comes from the end of unpacking the files. Yet ive still got an expanded setup folder of 3.01 GB (3,239,836,668 bytes). Ill give it a go and make an iso out of this to try when I get home.
ezzauk Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 The iso should work, i used the iso to build a test VM all worked ok.
lew_bob Posted October 26, 2009 Posted October 26, 2009 (edited) Nope, the disc has a warning about udf file system? A test laptop and this dekstop will not boot from the disc am going bloody insane, time to try again Grrrrrr Edited October 26, 2009 by lew_bob
