Ive rang them twice, they are still "looking into it" but are very vauge as to whats going on. Ive been told its an automated system and its messed up and this time I have been told its because they couldnt take payment. I received the text from my bank saying they had autharised an over seas payment so I know they have taken the money.

Downloaded the upgrade, unpacked it (error comes from unpacking 64bit on a 32bit install) and created an iso using WAIK. Then remembered I had no blank dvds, so I used the Microsoft tool to create a bootable usb version: Microsoft Store: Download Manager Help

Well I have had my download link and still no serial key, I have downloaded the software 3 times (on my 4th now) and I still cant get it to extract.

 

Can anyone confirm the files and sizes of a working x64 download?

mmm wierd have you downloaded using another PC (just thinking, faulty RAM is common when you get continuous extraction errors)

 

 

I will be getting x64 version in the next week so fingers crossed it works :s

I ended up copying an OEM home premium disc and changing the config to ask me which version to install.

 

Had Win7 Pro 64 installed a few weeks now and really really really happy with it. CS3 suite installed and runs no problems in PS and Prem, COD4 installed and patched ok, FSX runs beautifully with no permisison errors on addon scenery folders and all my other drives are recongnised and the permissions have been granted to access the other drives, esp the one that is still apotential bootable XP install on D:

If i use a copy of windows 7 i got and just get the code from the deal will that work??

Can i confirm that if i needed to install Windows 7 on a system without an OS, I will need to install it once as a clean install and then a second time as an upgrade to get the serial in?

I've got a laptop where the HD is trashed because of a virus. Would the 32bit version install even without a working OS or would I have to go for the 64bit version?

Whether you run 32bit or 64bit will depend on your hardware spec (i.e. cpu spec) and as stated by Jamo above, apparently you can install Windows 7 without any OS on it already.
