Phew.. all sorted.. I uninstalled eportal and re-installed.. then followed the link2ict notes about checking the 'execute' option for the Jakarta handler mappings. There was no mention about this in the Advanced learning notes!

Hi, How do I go about replacing it?
-
I'm having an issue with ePortal after the upgrade. Everytime I browse to the url the browser pops up asking if I want to save index.jsp. I have tried different web browsers.. and getting the same error.

Any primary schools out there doing 3D printing?
RTi replied to rjm30's topic in Educational Software
Just came across this on the App Store: Modio ? 3D printing app for iPad Looks great for Primary kids creating robot models etc. Once you have finished your model it places everything on your buildplate; just browse to the IP of the iPad and download the .stl or .thing (Makerbot) file. Will try this at home on my printer and update results. -
Thanks..but I was looking for some code examples of the arm being controlled by the Pi. It's a shame you cant use Scratch to control it.
-
Is there any info available on using it with the Robot Arm? example commands etc..

Any primary schools out there doing 3D printing?
RTi replied to rjm30's topic in Educational Software
Another drawback for the Cube3D is that you have to buy their own printing filament. -
Thats cool! .. The starter set incldes the software.. but if your using scratch.. then its not needed. Haha about the kids.. don't forget never to tie boys wet shoelaces

Testers for Remote Control of Pi using Scratch
RTi replied to SimpleSi's topic in Raspberry Pi, Arduino & Other SBCs
This looks great Si .. it's one of the reasons iv not experimented with the Pi as much.. and stuck to Arduino. Will try and give this a go over the weekend. Omar -

This is suddenly looking like a lot of work..for not much return.. As a primary school how would we supply a VAT invoice? We don't have a vat number..

Thanks for the replies. Yes the head would like to make some money back by selling them. £25 with Monitor, kb and mouse. Most of the PC's still have the COA stickers attached, think I might still install Linux on them though.. 1. They will be made aware that we will offer no support.. and it's pretty much "sold as seen" 2. I will have a demo unit with Linux, so they will see it's not Windows. 3. Do you mean a PAT Test? I believe they were tested earlier this year (I only started in September) so they should all have a label. 4. I was planning on downloading Open Office and some educational programs 5. Hmmm.. I might get them to sign a disclaimer..stating they must dispose accordingly.. and log serial numbers. It might not stop them, but we will have proof that we took appropriate steps and have the paperwork. The disclaimer will also state about the no comebacks and no support.

Hi, We have some old computers and rather than dispose of them, we would like to sell them on to staff/parents. What is the best practice regarding this. The PC's have MS Office and XP. I'm assuming we can't sell them with XP and MS Office? I was planning to wipe the drives and install Ubuntu on them. Thanks

Hi, We need 10 of these Netbooks, I know they are discontinued but wondered if anyone can still source them. Would prefer the Dual-Core models. Thanks
