I found an Acorn in a cupboard here recently - again, surprised it hadn't become an oak by now...

Altogether now:

Little Acorns

Performed by David Fisher

If you find a Little Acorn and plant it in the ground

Soon the shoots are reaching upwards and the roots are digging down

Then it's welcome to the forest, welcome to the family

And another Little Acorn becomes a mighty tree

When you're laughing in the sunshine or splashing in the rain

Chasing leaves along the pavement down a windy autumn lane

There's a song for every season, so sing along with me

And another Little Acorn becomes a mighty tree

A nother Little Acorn becomes a mighty tree...;) :) :)

And just to keep with the theme here is another:

Underneath The Spreading Chestnut Tree

Performed by The Hobby Horses

Underneath the spreading chestnut tree

Where I held you on my knee

Oh how happy we could be!

'Neath the spreading chestnut tree

Underneath the spreading chestnut tree

Where I held you on my knee

There we'll raise a family

'Neath the spreading chestnut tree.......;) :) :)

Don't you just love the Autumn.............I can take it or "leave" it say some of you I hear hehe!!!............started now for the day :) :) :)

@mattx - how big is your cupboard that you can go to the back of it and find lost things? Are you sure this isn't a "The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe" type cupboard??

LOL I was just wondering that too! Is Lord Lucan in there and Buddy Holly?

Ooooh....now I'm getting really excited about what I might find when we clear out the ICT cupboard......I know there's a zx80 in there somewhere!!!..........

VERY large - everyone could not work out why I was laughing so much when I found it - I came out of the cupboard with a shocked grin on my face.

I bet you gave it to a teacher....Teachers Pet!

Nope, it's now in silican heaven.

Didn't bump into those, did find an old supply teacher though.......didn't look too well I have to say.

Just before the summervacation I found an IBM 5150 ([ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IBM_Personal_Computer]IBM 5150[/ame]), ready to be scrapped. I was allowed to take it home :D

The most unusual thing I pulled out the back of the cupboard was an old laptop complete with giant Energizer battery. It looked like a 9V battery on steroids! Never seen anything like it.

Shame I never found anything genuinely interesting.

I've always been tempted to get an Apple Newton eMate - I love old computers and user-interfaces.

I think it's the bulk that puts me off - they look tiny until you place them next to something that gives you a sense of scale.

(I have an Apple Newton MP130, and a couple of DataRover 840s knocking around at home - the DataRovers, with their MagicCap OS, are useful reminders about what happens when you take metaphors to the extreme!)

Ah... sigh... I've just had a look around my room and decided I should really play more with my MicroVAXs and my PDP-11. (Old computers just have more character than the modern stuff.) I wish I was rich - then I'd have more space for more lovely junk!

I took a shower afterwards - I felt quite violated....
