GrumbleDook Posted August 27, 2009 Posted August 27, 2009 No ... not Steve Jobs ... my job. For those not aware I have been on secondment at the LA but I applied for the role full time and got it on Monday. Feels a bit strange not to be returning to school some time later in the year ... but I get to continue to do some fun things and be a voice of sanity to the local techies when needed. Thanks to all who have not given me too much grief over the last year. Oh ... that doesn't mean you can start now though ... 2

Thanks mate ... much appreciated. Thanks to everyone else too ... Harnessing Technology Manager (Technical). And to answer Witch's question ... Translate educational into technical and back again, a heap of stuff out of the Harnessing Technology Strategy (yes ... I have read *all* the Becta docs on it ... please don't ask me to do it again!), work on interoperability and common standards / practices, best value (it does not always mean cheapest!) ... and then helping getting it all out to schools too. A number of specific things in there ... FITS, EMBC, Learning Platform, working with support companies / independent techies as well as those employed directly at the school.

Congratulations... is this just for the Northants area or will you be covering Leicestershire as well? 1
russdev Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Tony just northhants are he works for county council in Northhants. He is equivalent of Carole but with few extra remits due to setup in Northhants. Russ
Jobos Posted August 31, 2009 Posted August 31, 2009 Thanks but I should have said Leicester City and not Leicestershire
GrumbleDook Posted September 1, 2009 Author Posted September 1, 2009 As Russ said, this is for Northants only ... and each LA is different in how they approach things, just as each school is different ... each RBC is different ... etc ...
