contink Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Why not something simple... "Central" or "The Hub" KISS applies...
Edu-IT Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Has she got nothing better to do? Your director of ICT that is.
EduTech Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 Has she got nothing better to do? Your director of ICT that is. I would of thought so ;-) I do like "The Learning Grid" we could put our school name instead of The James.
sahmeepee Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Web Accelerator for New Knowledge (stretching it a bit, I know) On a more serious note, you need to put together one of these: study work school learning skills knowledge with one of these: web space portal hub grid centre zone connect direct then stick one of these in front of it: e i i- e- Then mess around with the capitalisation to your preference. Bingo, you're good to go!
Guest leeneilson Posted June 22, 2009 Posted June 22, 2009 Teaching Oriented Student Service. like it
EduTech Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 'The teacher of The Future'? *Awaits flames etc Now i have to put that to our Dep Head i am sure she will love it or not as the case might be * I dont think they have realised that we make them create all of the content so that by 2010 we can remove all teaching staff (except a few exceptions) and point all students to the new online curriculum. * Now i'm so getting bad rep for that :| honest govenour its only a joke James.
john Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 How about you call it SharePoint as that is what it is!
p858snake Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 How about you call it SharePoint as that is what it is!The Sharing Point (Stands for what is currently installed and if you change it, it still works >.>)
EduTech Posted June 23, 2009 Author Posted June 23, 2009 How about you call it SharePoint as that is what it is! Because that is just the platform, this is a name for everything put together I suppose i should of changed the way i asked the question really as yes rightly so the platform is Sharepoint but this is a name for everything together (Platform, Environment, SIMS, Remote Access, Email etc) I must admit names that end in Grid, Center sound pretty good as it is like a grid.. we could create a nice logo for that using a grid looking layer oh the design in me takes over.. (SYSSMAANNNN!!!) lol James.

(SYSSMAANNNN!!!) lol James. you could have a competition for the kids (or teachers who well may fit into the first catogory)
Edu-IT Posted June 23, 2009 Posted June 23, 2009 Make sure you put BETA on the end of it, whatever you do. If you could include an 'r' somewhere too then that would go down like a treat.

Edu-IT Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Learning Galaxy? That would be no good for me. Too closely linked to chocolate.
gavins38 Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Why not "IT". Then when "IT" goes wrong, you'll know what everyone is talking about!
Devontechie Posted November 12, 2009 Posted November 12, 2009 Did you come up with a name for it? Steve
EduTech Posted November 13, 2009 Author Posted November 13, 2009 Did you come up with a name for it? Steve Nope, I passed on the names everyone come up with and have not heard anything! Will Chase that up tomorrow though i forgot they had said about this... explains why everytime i say Learning Platform the Dir of ICT says dont call it that James.
CybScryb Posted August 2, 2010 Posted August 2, 2010 University of Nevada, Las Vegas, College of Southern Nevada and a host of others have called our learning environment "WebCampus" for the past several years. As a metaphor, it fits and when another professor comes in from the cold, they don't have to adapt to a strange new world. They just become part of the virtual campus.
