Thank for your help @snagrat
-
So I get that..with this example, all users are on a single forest and single internal domain!
-
When you say UPN - you mean their Unique Pupil Number from their MIS system? Or you mean the UPN field in AD for their username so if I wanted it to be ttest I'd need to set the UPN as Ttest and fill in their email field as [email protected] and then another usermight be Ttest2 and fill in their email field as [email protected] for example? In this particular case I would want their username to be based on their login to the network and not be different, I would be using ADFS and Dir Sync... Sorry for the questions

Thanks @snagrat that's useful. So effectively, if I had one AD with multiple users in it from multiple schools if I filled in the address field in AD with [email protected] and [email protected] and [email protected] and all three domains were verified and part of Office 365 then users would be created email address under the correct domain? Is that the right understanding? Really appreciate your response on this. Rich

Anyone on this??

Hi Guys, Can anyone help with this scenario... If I have a O365 tenancy linked to a domain (say test.co.uk) and I have this linked to a single active directory through DirSync/ADFS then everything is good...all AD users flow into this tenancy and we setup email and all users get [email protected] setup. What happens if I add multiple domains into O365, so for example, I add test2.co.uk and test3.co.uk. Where do the users from the single AD flow to? How do I allocate them to the test2.co.uk domain and some to the test3.co.uk domain. I suppose what I'm trying to say, is if I have a multi academy setup with a single AD at the top of the structure who want to manage the tenancy of O365 but each school want their own domain identity for email how does O365 manage this? Any help gratefully received! Rich

Hi Mike, A lot of experience here in Staffs, rolled out SP2007 to over 300 schools over the last 8 years and now have over 170 schools using O365 SharePoint! We actually use RM's Unify product paired with their SharePoint Site Creator tool but that probably isn't an option here. That said, the tools just create the structure we want in O365 SP. In the main we have gone with your second option on sites. Create a Staffroom site/Governor Site etc and then create faculty areas (or if in a Primary, utilise class/yr groups) It works well - although tbh, permissions can be a little tricky but we promote with schools in O365 SP a more open children area that everyone can see. Staffroom is a little easier as we have groups sent through from RM Unify that have all staff in etc, so permissions are easier to sort for this. Is that anyway? If not, shoot away and I'll answer what I can! Rich

Hi Alex, That's fine for users that are to be created, but what about ones that have already created their personal space - I know I can remove access individually but that's very time consuming, I want to disable their One Drive after creation for everyone in the tenancy. Any help appreciated Rich

Hi Guys, Can anyone help me with this one... We want to disable One Drive in Office 365 across the whole of the tenancy - I know I can disable it for all future users and individually turn off the permission for individual users but is there a blanket way (maybe via powershell) that allows me to take away access to One Drive. Any help greatly appreciated! Rich

[Office356] My Sites, OneDrive and Sharepoint
funkyfin2000 replied to trivers1982's topic in Cloud Services
We've had this happen to us - just log a call to MS and they will sort - although not sure they can check all accounts in a tenancy.... -
One Drive 'profile' needs to be created first of all I believe - It takes anything from 5mins to 2 hrs to set up - but you need to activate it via the web view first.
-
One quick point - you get a 50gb mailbox per user too
-
Thanks all that's very interesting

Hi All, Has anyone had any oddities whereby Office 365 Outlook won't connect to the servers through the Outlook Program sometimes - just times out - but other times it's fine...sure I remember seeing something on here, but can't find anything under search.. Any help appreciated! Rich

Fixed the issue we were experiencing - school installed Office 2013.... @Gongalong - not sure! Got your email though!
-
@awade - Just experiencing the same issue as you with just 4 accounts at a school - do you know what the exact issue at RM's end was??
-
Doh! That's that solved then...
-
Not that I'm aware of - you've tried everything I would do - very odd - only solace I can give is, we have it working :S Presume you have tried different machines etc - versions of Office etc...
-
@Gongalong - should be fine - we have it tested and working fine here in legacy Outlook using the O365 wizard. Only thing I can think of is any type of filtering going on in school?

Frog may well be one of most popular VLE's but here in Staffs a number of schools have become very racked off with the direction of Frog Learn and the non ability to bring Frog 3 resources in to FL and many have dropped it. It's also the usual story from some of these schools of VLE's that; it's one persons love and baby and it never ever becomes whole school or embedded in to school life. That's an awfully expensive mistake to make when it's cost a school over £20k! Certainly the experience of a number of schools I've spoken to recently.

Hmmmm, logging in via web, does it work with their AD username and password?
-
Therefore the passwords should be their AD password.
-
Hi Awade, Can I ask whether or not you are still provisioning through your RM LP? Or is your RM Unify connected to your AD? Dependent on which way you're provisioning will determine what the password will now be for any IMAP setup accounts. E.g. iPads, legacy outlook etc Rich

Going with Firefly VLE - anyone use it? Onsite or Hosted?
funkyfin2000 replied to siuko's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Ouch on the price - these days really is that kind of pricing realistic for an LP? Even Frog have had to reduce their crazy prices! £2000 for Office 365/Google Apps? But those services are free - what are they doing just integrating them? I would question the value personally and made sure you look at all the other options out there. Just my two pence worth mind!
