Hello! We have a member of staff who uses a non-domain laptop within the school. I've always managed to install SOLUS and SIMS by instead of using DOMAIN\Username and password, their COMPUTERNAME\Username and password. However he has upgraded the laptop to WIndows 10 and linked it with his @live.com account. Now when I try to use the COMPUTERNAME\username and password it does not work. I've tried the old username and password (before windows 10), his email username and password and I cannot find a combination that allows me to install SOLUS. Even if I try to browse his C drive I cannot access it. Does anyone know a way?

Weird. You guys are in Birmingham, I'm down in Kent and experiencing the exact same issues. BBC and various websites are not loading but a bunch of other websites are. Might be a nation wide issue?

Hi, I think if I'm correct I had this issue before. For some reason the Borland database engine wasn't installed correctly so I manually extracted the application from SOLUS 3 and installed it. Sam

If you want any versions apart from the Enterprise and Education then you can download an ISO through Microsoft's website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10. Going to install Professional tonight!

Wow, a lot of support for Office 365. It's amazing how much this forum can vary Has anyone tried running Office 365 and MS Exchange?

Well for our staff, we would want a 99.9% uptime, for students it is not important but for staff it is. With our 125 staff this cost will be around £5,000. Similar to how much it would cost with our current LEA.

Hi Guys, I had a thought in my head about reducing the cost of our email expenses. Currently all students and all staff have emails hosted on our local LEA. I would like to move to an onsite exchange as the cost savings in quite significant but the cost of hosting ALL students and staff would still be high. I've looked around and I couldn't see any information about a question I had. Is it possible to put all of our students onto Office 365 and all staff onto a local exchange server. Will that work? All students and staff have the same email alias, etc? If not, could you have staff on @school.county.sch.uk and then students on a separate one. And the ability to share address books? If so, that would be incredibly useful but for some reason I have a doubt that this will work. Many thanks for your help! Sam

You guys must be really unlucky. Most of the stuff that I buy from Ebuyer (delivered by Yodel) I get sent to work, and I have had a few Saturday deliveries at home, and so far I have not had any issues... Must be certain areas??

I know how you feel. First SOLUS 3 deployment yesterday. Been firefighting issues since then. Some PCs that do not have SOLUS installed. Not too much of an issue, but the ones that do have it installed, and then coming up with incompatible database!! At least with SOLUS 2 you can reinstall easily, unlike SOLUS 3 which seems to take its sweet time...

Yaaay! Cannot wait for christmas. Not long to go, and now a chocolate pizza
