Meh, I got one at the stand just for asking nicely....

I turned up at the stand, tried talking to somebody and was basically shrugged away. I went back, hung around for a bit and watched the dancing robot, and couldn't seem to catch anybody to talk to. I gave up after that. EduGeek went down in my books that day (if only for a day!).

Do you think the T-Shirt company will delay things again? :)

We were manic at certain points - eg: when there was pizza....

Lol, I walked past the stand a few times but didn't actually get chance to talk to anybody - that was my own doing though in my case, not the people manning the stand.

Heh yeah I think I was talking to DB when the pizza surfaced, never seen people move so fast :)

I am sorry you had that experience does get manic at times. Will have to think think about how can stop that from happening in the future.

Once again sorry.

It is a difficult thing to manage on he stand actually ... trying to spend time meeting and greeting existing members whilst also running an information point.

It is hard to meet everyone, even more difficult to have a meaningful conversation too.

I'm sure the folks will try hard to improve next year. (hmmm ... they had better not shrug me off or try to avoid giving me freebies!)

You've had enough... mugs, hats, pens, shirts, t-shirts, stickers, bags, lanyards (how many people were desperate for those too?!?!?), USB drives (technically not EG branded but a marker pen would solve that), A WATCH and I bet you got one of those USB launch devices!!!

Bleeding us dry I tell ya!!!

Actually, I didn't get a USB launcher as my bag of goodies was grabbed to make up stuff for others. When I did get my hands one I kindly passed it on to kmount who couldn't make BETT ... So forget where's my mug... Where's my USB launcher!

I'll add to it another sorry, it was chaos at times, but we did our best :) I didn't do all 4 days just the Sat and a bit on late Friday after I had finished my work time but I am sure we will take them comments on-board for next year :)

As for freebies, I enjoy my mug its hidden for special occasions, should have got it out for when Mark and Stu visited us the other month, I also have a nice Smoothwall mug with my name on it :) (that reminds me must poke the SMT for my extra cash for the UTM!!! before I have the lovely credit control lady at Smoothwall on the phone to me again :) )

Now your're just taking the *****

Obviously, if people were there and helping, then they deserve stuff - but to give away things to someone just because he couldn't make BETT......

Nor could I, and lots of others !

Hmmm.....:D

That's no way to torture a technician. I made a little Autoit application and launched it with PSEXEC. Opens the technicians CD drive and makes a burping noise come from his PC.

It wasn't for lack of trying on his part. It was also a bit of a thank you for being a top bloke and lending an extra set of knowledgeable hands when another Northants school had a nasty virus infection and needed their SIMS box rescuing ...

hmmmmm don't tempt me my techies laptops have remotes with, just think of the fun with them mwhahahahahahaahahahha

My first school, I accidentally put Back Orifice on a few classroom machines and would monitor student activity (restart the machine if they were surfing for dubious and non-work related materials) but forgot I had also put it on a colleague's machine ... and set them all te restart. He was in the middle of finishing off a bit of code and was in mid-compile. He was really happy!

When we were first testing RM Tutor 3, and before the updates were installed to stop listing all the computers in the school, the Head of ICT would regularly lock all the screens of any active computer on the site instead of those in his lesson. Cue angry teachers marching to the IT suite :)
