pauljonze Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 So nobody had heard of the 'C' word till she got it? Crappy, Clifford, C-list Celebs, Clifford, Criminal-boyfriend, Claptrap, Cashing-in, Cheap, Crass, Clifford, Creepy, Clifford... Oh forgot... and Cancer too. She should give it to Charity, her children will have to live with the fact they owe their upbringing to the mercenary actions of a mother cashing in on her cancer like some great big swollen media maggot. Not to mention the insidious Clifford and what he's making out of it all. Unfortunately the vile magazines will sell and sell as long as there are shallow scumbags to buy them. 4

Anon Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 (edited) Cancer is terrible but I really can't feign interest or compassion for Jade Goody. Yes she's taking full advantage of her fame and I can't blame her for wanting to make money for her kids but it seems to me that the most worthwhile thing she's done, in terms of making a positive impact in this world, is raising awareness of cancer by dying of it. I would never wish her ill but I can't stand people who are famous for nothing, especially when there are people out there working hard everyday to make the world a better place and get no recognition at all. I can think of another 'C' word as well but I won't say that - I already have 4 infractions !! 1
pauljonze Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I almost added it but thought the 4 Cliffords was enough! 1

Apparently two years ago, Cancer Research approached her to see whether she'd donate some of her "hard earned cash" She apparently told them to "**** off, what will i get out of it?" Oh the irony 1
Michael Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I don't think Jade's first intentions were to raise cancer awareness at all. She has stated publically that she's doing it to raise as much money for her children. To my knowledge (please correct me if I am wrong), no money is going to a cancer charity or cancer research/development. Life's all about choices. She also chose to get married and she's made this decision to go publically for her children. As to whether this is right or wrong, only Jade can answer this. It is her life, her family after all. 1

Simcfc73 Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Flipping 'eck Tech_Guy, will you stop listing your books, I'm having enough trouble keeping up on the other ones you have suggested !! Now I have to add another to me ' must read that at some point list ' I've only just started Stoll's Silican Snake Oil !! I heard they have created these 'books' which have nothing to do with computers..some don;t even have robots or ex SAS soldiers living on the edge in them. whatever will they think of next. As for Jade.. I heard Elton is going to re-re-release Candle for her.. he likes to release his records for people who manipulate the press for their own ends 1
reggiep Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Not to mention the insidious Clifford and what he's making out of it all. To be fair Clifford may be a man who makes money from scandal BUT his wife did die from lung cancer so he does have an extra incentive to help with Jade Goody. 1
Hightower Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Mandy has shyed away since you bigger boys took over the thread By the way Mattx, was the word you were thinking of 'Country'? 1
mattx Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Mandy has shyed away since you bigger boys took over the thread By the way Mattx, was the word you were thinking of 'Country'? Something like that - more on the lines of Computer User Non Technical....... 1

witch Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 I'm not keen on Jade Goody but I think she has every right to do EXACTLY as she pleases with her life at this point and if the media want to behave in this ridiculous way, so be it. You are mistaken when you say that she is trying to raise awareness of cancer...What she is doing is raising awareness of both the need for cervical smear tests and the need to react to the results sent. She ignored a letter telling her she needed treatment which is a good part of why she is in the state she is now. There has already been an increased demand for smear tests and this can only be a good thing - she may actually be instrumental in saving one or two lives. So it isn't necessary to sneer quite so much, I wouldn't have thought 4

Mandy Posted March 16, 2009 Author Posted March 16, 2009 Hightower;305438]Mandy has shyed away since you bigger boys took over the thread Just had work to do..... Your right, Max Clifford has taken advantage of Jades position for his own benefit - i'm pretty sure if he was the one in this situation, he would die peacefully, away from everyone! - I don't know why, things/actions of other people (Elton, Clifford etc..) should tar the real cause - the fact that a 27year old young girl is days/hours away from death and people still have to critisize her is inhumane... but everyone has their opinions.... 1
rolfea Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Here's a true heroine: Sophie Scholl I'm currently reading this account of her life and I strongly recommend that you read it too. True bravery and sacrifice. Amazon.... Correct me if i'm wrong, but IMHO her brother deserves just as much, if not more honour as Sophie. I know as much as wikipedia has told me, but it sounds as though him and his friends started it all, and she was almost like a fifth wheel who was able to do what she did, because she was female and less likely to get searched? 1
Polski Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Just a little name drop her, I will leave you guys and gals to Google it. Terry Fox. [ame=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Fox]Terry Fox - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame] 1
Hightower Posted March 16, 2009 Posted March 16, 2009 Somebody said earlier that Jade Goody is brave - how so? She doesn't have a choice about her outcome - she's just getting on with it. I bet if she could change it she would. Brave is when someone has a choice, and does something regardless. Our boys in Afghanistan are 'brave'. Jade Goody, I'm afraid, is far from it. 2
