GrumbleDook Posted January 28, 2009 Posted January 28, 2009 air-speed velocity IIRC is a description of the velocity that a flying body experiences in relation to the originating point based on horizontal travel. Velocity describes it in relation on both horizontal and vertical. A bird is usually described in air-speed velocity but an aircraft is described in velocity due to the unlikeliness of frequent, extreme changes of direction. Happy to be corrected if the explanation is not complete. 1

Humans call them eggs because they look like chicken eggs, but humans were not around during the years of the dinosaurs, so the question should be 'What came first, The dinosaur or the thing it hatched from?
