witch Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Well, I have just got a new job - Jiser is moving on and I have been lucky enough to get his old job....15 hours a week at a local junior school. This means I can finally leave my first school job. Of course, the very same week, my middle school job offered me 5 hours more, so in one fell swoop I will be going from 16 hours a week (reduced from 21 a few months ago) to 30 hours a week. Don't know how it is all going to work out - but I am looking forward to the challenge! The main difference is that the new school has no managed system, which means no tech support line. (I don't use it often but it is nice to know it is there.) So I might be on here a bit more often, screaming 'HELP!!! 1
kylewilliamson Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 In IT Support, no one can hear you scream! Well done! xx 1
SYNACK Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Congratulations on your new job and getting more hours on the other one, I assume that the first school job is the one that would not give you more hours? If so congratulations on your escape
witch Posted November 29, 2008 Author Posted November 29, 2008 Actually no, it is the middle school that wouldn't give me more hours - now they have -due to my new ICT co-ord really pushing for them. It is only 5 but better than nothing
elsiegee40 Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Fantastic news witch! I'm really pleased for you Time to break out the pompoms!
contink Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 All good... Now should we get the popcorn and beers ready for when you're screaming about too many hours? *ducks and runs for his life*
GrumbleDook Posted November 29, 2008 Posted November 29, 2008 Congrats Witch. Do you reckon this lot will pay for you to pop up to BETT? A real need if there is no direct support line ... you need to come to BETT to make sure you are on top of things of course ;-) No need to tell them that you have your own personal support line ... it is called EduGeek !!!
chrbb Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Well done you:) I've changed my jobs as well, handed my notice in at one school and was promptly given the extra hours at my main school:D All change for quite a few of in the new year!

If it does cool, you'll get to play around with AD directly then -Ken
Netman Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Well done! I've had a glimpse of how hard you've worked there to keep on top of things, despite not having enough hours - maybe now they'll realise what they're losing... good on ya!
Jiser Posted November 30, 2008 Posted November 30, 2008 Yo, well done Witch I look forward to seeing you this week for handover. I am sure the head will let you go to BETT with wangling. No RM nope. AD yup! Nice new fresh network for you to play on. Cheers

Cheers Thanks all: in AD, noone can hear you scream:eek: Well done Chrbb: that was what I was hoping my current job would do - they did give me more hours, but not enough for me to stay exclusive, and the new job is the same number so I am doubling the hours I work
