Stick it on a small platform in the middle of a large white room in the Tate Modern - you'll make a fortune.

Fluking hell! And that's not been dropped - that's an impact crater on the screen it's been hit or something has been thrown at it more like.

LOL Apparently it fell out of her laptop bag  hmmm me thinks someone wanted a new laptop maybe....

Fell, opened itself on the way to the ground and executed a perfect swan dive onto something large, solid and about the size of a cricket ball which was coincidentally on the floor under it. Either that or someone's been playing french laptop cricket at the weekend.

I like your theory outtolunch :p whatever it 'fell' on it must have gone with a hell of a crack as the dent on the lid is tiny.

We had two teachers reverse over their laptops in the space of one week, neither of them looked as bad as that. However, they were closed and in their laptop bags so I suppose that made all the difference. ;)

Send the laptop to the CSI lab care of Gil Grissom, they'll find out what really happened ;)

I've seen that kind of damage before. My money is on someone carrying the laptop with the power unit in beween the keyboard and screen.
