john Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Well done Zak, @jcollings, are you saying the local inhabitants of Kendal are of the Chavesq nature or just that Kendal is a haven for driving schools and cheap car garages As for kid with no insurance, nah theres a great way round that my mate told me I should use it (note I do not and won't be doing it) But his car is his IE he paid for it etc and hes the only one that uses it, but to save insurance its in his mums name and hes down as the 3rd occasional use driver so it means his insurnace is peanuts for a blinged up Saxo that his mum probably wouldn't be seen dead in! When he quotes with him on it as the main driver and owner it was 900 more! Fine putting your mum etc on your insurance can save, and helps me but my car is mine, owned by me and in my own name shes the occasional / 2nd driver not me so its right but its all being dodgy at the end of the day, he said how do the insurance firm know that your the main driver anyway, if you bump it you just happened to be on an occasional use session. Oh yeh and they never declare all the "bling" they stick on and in them so they save a lot by not doing that. They think all that carbon fibre makes them go so much faster and better, meh stupid children when will they learn

In the first few years of driving though insurance is stupidly expensive if you have your own policy so sometimes named driver is the only option.

Won't be doing that, i one of my dads friends son did that and when he come to claim the insurance found out and invalidated it. Its also a criminal offense that has been overlooked.
