jthompson Posted June 1, 2023 Posted June 1, 2023 When a newish Audi does actually indicate, I find the 'animated' sweep of the indicator light quite distracting. It lights up in an outward sweep, but then just goes straight off. I feel like it needs to also go off in an outward sweep as well.

Those are right up there with indicators placed on the 'inside' edge of headlights, so you can't see them at even a shallow angle. Or if their headlights are on. You shouldn't have to play Find The Indicator in traffic. 4

Can unlock some cool stuff with OBD these days, I went searching for the annoying fake engine noise speaker but realized I could do it via OBD II then I saw option for been able to unlock the boot with the key fob with the ignition on and thought yep I'll have some of that too.

One of the things I love about the Superb is the automation. Headlights (adaptive and cornering), wipers, climate, all just make driving so much less faffy. Almost as annoying are those that indicate when they are turning the wheel as they are actually making the turn... pointless! I must admit, the lights do make me groan when they come on for a few seconds if you go under a large bridge, or under heavy cloud.

My bugbear is the way DRLs were implemented with no rear lights (because car makers said it used too much fuel [emoji2357]) so people think they can be seen and don't notice they haven't got any lights on. On my VAG cards I use the odb dongle to change the setting to Scandinavian DRLs which put the rear lights on all the time. 1

Many times I'm behind cars in the dark and there are no rear lights, so there I am flashing them and when I go past I see front lights on which must be DRL. As for manufacturers not using rear lights for fuel consumption, what bright (excuse the pun) idea was that? Especially as now when a lot of cars have rear LEDs. Edited June 2, 2023 by Davit2005
dezt Posted June 12, 2023 Posted June 12, 2023 I discovered 2 extra USB-C ports next to a 12V port in the center of the back footwell for passengers to use after 2 years of never opening the compartment as I didn't know it was there. That takes my compliment of USB-C ports up to 5 in the car now, 3 in the front and 2 in the back. Mercedes GLC. I also recently discovered that there's an option to enable a function of the front camera to turn on when you pull up to traffic lights to show you the lights, for some reason you don't have to look out of the car to watch the traffic lights change, the most pointless feature i've ever seen. 1

mikeprice Posted October 30, 2023 Posted October 30, 2023 In my 2010 Honda Civic the rear seats are quite thin vertically - which allows them to be folded up when the seat back is vertical - thus revealing a large high area Only found that about a year ago It does however mean that when the seats are just normal back seats then there is a large space under them which is great - except it does mean that there are a lot of hidden thing in my car In many cases I can confidently blame the grandkids 1

Davit2005 Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 (edited) Had a Golf eTSI DSG as a loan car from garage. Noticed it had off marked on the plus paddle, yep it switches back to auto from temp manual mode. Tried it in my 2019 Seat Leon Cupra DSG and although it does not have off on the paddle the feature still works. No more needing to move the gear selector from Drive to Sport mode to quickly get back into auto if was in auto before using the paddles :-) I've only had the car 4 years and jus noticed that feature, lol. mikeprice Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 I had a hire car around the end of the 1990s I was travelling from North Wales (Bangor) to Sunderland for work I was driving quite normally along the A55 through North Wales and heading for the A55 - radio on as usual - heading for the M56 A mile or two onto the M56 the radio suddenly cut our and a female voice very clearly said "You are on the M56 Heading East" scared me to death!!! I had no clue that the car had any kind of nav system - no screen or obvious button - it just suddenly decided to talk to me!!

DalekSec Posted December 6, 2023 Posted December 6, 2023 Today i found out, when i put my heated rear window on, it turns off my DAB radio.... The aerial in my car is embedded in the rear window also, so my guess is when it turns on it interferes with the signal.
