IEC/Kettle Leads

Is there a market for these? We have got a load of these sat in our server room collecting dust. Does anyone buy them back?

Same here - I reckon edugeek members should pool them and see how many we can get to!

There was a post like this before and i turns out not everyone has a plentyful supply. We've got well over a 100 I would have thought. Everytime we replace a machine thats another IEC spare!

I've got a couple of hundred as well - due to having to swap those used with our last batch of computers with ones that have a right angled connector.

Ive got 3 carboard boxes full of the damn things. Ive also got a box full of european clover leads!

This sounds like an edugeek world record attempt - Most IEC leads in one place at one time

They are worth money for the copper content - if you have a scrap metal dealer near you then they will probably take batches of 100 or so.

Our problem is that we get a two way IEC lead with the PCs and a single IEC lead with the monitors The collection mounts up.

If you'd like to get rid of some we're begging at my local theatre. I may be able to cover your courier costs if they are a problem, as long as they are reasonable lol.

We don't - but I am aware that some schools replace all kettle leads on their PC's on an annual basis to save on the cost of PAT testing.

It's ridiculous how many of these things we've got, I dont know how we massed such a collection of them! If anyone wants to trade for either right-angled ones or pass through ones I'm willing:D

That's interesting, the recommendation is that "all equipment should be tested prior to being taken into service".
