Hi All Just after a bit of advice. I've been asked to look into using Chromebooks within our Windows Domain. I've read the literature on setting SSO up on Azure. My question is, what sort of Google workspace license would we need to manage the chromebooks. I presume the free version wouldn't cover this? Thanks in advance

We have a new ICT Head of department. Our existing software is quite dated. Acid music 7, a really old version of game maker. After speaking to her today we need to look at alternatives. Just wondering what other schools use to teach lower school ICT?

Hi I've just started to look at setting up student advantage office 365. I was going to use Windows azure directory sync to synchronise all our AD username and passwords. I've just contacted the company that we purchased our Microsoft school agreement with, asking how much It would cost to add Windows azure to our existing agreement. They tell me this can't be added. She says "If the school require this there is a minimum purchase value of £12,000 for the product and then Microsoft will allow you to purchase this product". I'm missing the point somewhere. How have your schools setup office 365 student advantage. Or how have you sync AD to office 365. Thanks in Advance Jamie

Hi All Over the summer I installed the lasts bios firmware to a number of HP laptops. Since then staff have complained of the system slowing down to a crawl. To the point of hitting a key takes a few seconds for the letter to appear. In the event logs a Kernel-processor power warning event 37 shows up The speed of processor 1 in group 0 is being limited by system firmware. The processor has been in this reduced performance state for 71 seconds since the last report. I've changed a number of the advanced power options, which has improved the problem, but staff still report the computers are slower than they were before the bios upgrade. Has anyone had similar issues???????? The Machines are HP probook 6470b and 6360b. Windows 7 x64. Hp Bios Version F42 Thanks in advance Jaimie

I used to use a mac mini to configure 30 ipads. Now i use Cisco Meraki - Cloud Managed Networks that Simply Work. It's free and means i don't have to drag all the ipads back to the mac as meraki works in the cloud. Loads easier. Regards J

Anybody used any decent apps to rdp an iPad to Windows TS session. Started to play around with a few. I've set apple configurator up, to tie the settings down on the iPads. I’m hoping there are a few schools who have gone through this process already and could give me some advice. I'm partly through trying to setup Facility Eportal access externally for parents to use over the internet. I have setup IIS, all is working fine within school. We host our webpage and get our internet connection from county. So i need to fill in a change request form to see if they will allow us to do this. Am i right in thinking I will need them to map – eportal.myschool.lincs.sch.uk through to our internal address 192.168.x.x on port 8080 (or 8443 if they want us to go secure). Is this the way you guy's have gone about it???? Thanks in Advance

Our intenal network is resolving lincolnshire.gov.uk to a 192.168 address. It needs to resolve lincolnshire.gov.uk to 62.172.185.1. where in DNS should i add a record to point the request in the right direction???? Serco can help you with this, we got them to dial into our servers to correct it. You also have to buy the single signon LDAP option from Serco as an extra (i know this sounds silly) but check you have.

What rules did you need to apply to point external users to the server where eportal is running. I am about to attempt to give access to Eportal externally from our website. Our website is hosted at county, and eportal is behind our isa server. Many Thanks
