Just a 10,000mah cheapo powerbank, i leave the phone out in the elements, hasn't really rained during the night, it has no waterproofing - it's a Moto g phone, I just put a bit of masking tape over the power/vol buttons to keep rain out.

For the woodpeckers and tree creepers that prefer a vertical perch?

I'm guessing you took the photos with an iPhone? I've found they deal with image rotation differently to everything else!

I have the same problem on Android (and previously WinMo). Edugeek randomly rotates photos for some reason.

It's not random, it's the rotation tag:

Interesting read, but surely digital cameras are powerful enough to not bother with this now, and to just actually rotate the image?

I can't say that anything I use does it this way, but some phones use it, notably iphones in my experience, I guess it's easier to program it this way though? just another line in the exif data, as opposed to a transformation matrix of the pixel data.

Went out for my daily bike ride today and saw a weasel!!

 

or possibly a Stoat but I don';t remember seeing a black tip on the tail so probably a weasel

 

I was at tend end of a country lane where it goes into a soil track witha hedge to one side. The weasel was just standing near the hedge. WHen I stopped it looked at me for a while then scampered across the path into a ditch on the other side - the ran across the field for about 50 yards and into a thick hedge area

 

 

 

and before that 2 Phesents shot across the road in front of me and on teh way back a flock of greenfixnches and some chaffinches

 

plus the normal pigeons, magpies and crows

 

basically the airport is great when you stop all the planes!!!

I'm still not convinced; it only seems to be on Edugeek that the problem appears.

 

From what I've worked out. Windows 10 automatically rotates phone images to show them the right way around. It does this using the tags left by the device.

What it does not do is permanently rotate them. To do that you need to use something like Preview (which is still present in Win 10 if you go hunting) to open the image, rotate it once or twice and then exit, it'll save it correctly on exit and it will appear as intended on here.

Nice to hear that the pheasants are doing the shooting for a change, rather than being shot at.

I didnt see it but I have been hearing a lot of low squealing and grunting in the garden in the middle of the night. Our garden is completely fenced due to our escapologist dog, all but one bit where we had wired in a bit of pipe so that any hedgehog could get in. I went to have a look around the garden today and saw that the pipe had been ripped out (and it was firmly wired in) and the hole enlarged. I think we had a visit from a badger - very exciting

So - based on that I took a proper camera with me today

 

saw naff all except pigeons

 

and a 'young couple' who were 'sitting behind a hedge'

FINALLY managed to get a couple of photos of birds in the garden - not very good but anyway

Local golf course is open for walking. Saw some deer and a heron, which was cool

Just the other day there was a Heron sat on the roof of our neighbours' house. It popped down into the garden to pose for photos before flying away

That’s a Little Egret. It’s instantly recognisable as soon as it lifts a foot out of the water as it has black legs and bright yellow feet! It looks like it’s wearing washing up gloves
